Show STANDARD WH1TER0CKS Mr. Versa Heap . . . a The Verl Haslems received a telephone call from Parsons, Tenn., Dec. 26, that a former resident of this area Jay C. Richardson had been killed in a car accident on Christmas night. He is survived by his wife Linda and four children. The Richardson's lived in the Haslems basement several years ago and he was employed in this area. They were former members of the Whiterocks ward. Alfred Helquist had major surgery on his knee at the LDS hospital in Salt Lake recently. He was able to be home for Christmas. Daughters, Kathy and Pam, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Pitcher of Logan, and Mr. and Mrs. Reed Hartle gathered at their home for Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Helquist announce the engagement of their daughter Pamelia to Douglas Selly of Logan. They plan an April wedding. a Mrs. Hekjuist visited her parents, the Ivan Fergunsons over the holidays. Ralph and Lynette Wright and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Whiting of the Neola ward have been called to work in the White-rock- s branch. Mr. Whiting was sustained as 2nd counselor to President Dale Harrison and Ralph was sustained as branch clerk. Lloyd Swain of Vernal was released and John Larsen who has served as clerk was released. These people have served 2'i years in the branch. Mrs. Wright and Mrs. Whiting will be working in the organization also. The Branch Relief Society held a special Christmas luncheon Dec. 19. About 30 ladies were in attendance. A film was also shown. a Miss Kathy Sweet was honored at a miscellaneous shower held at Union high library recently. Her fiancee Avraham Gileadi was a speaker at the Whiterocks Branch on Dec. 9. Miss Sweet and Mr. Gileadi were married Dec. 22 in the Provo Temple and a reception was held that night at the Reynold Brown home in Orem. Mr. Gileadi is a student at BYU and will continue his studies there for another year or so. They will make a home in Provo. Miss Heather of Cody, Wyo., came to take Miss Sweet's place at Union high. She has been staying at the apartment in Whiterocks with Kathy. She spent the holidays in Wyoming with her parents. Marlene Kull spent the holidays in California with her family. a The Branch Sunday School presented a Christmas program featuring little Maxwell Cuch as Joseph and Dorthella Kowchee as Mary, Scriptures were read by Amanda and Jim Hoopes and Marie Duncan sang several songs. Other parts were songs by Maxwell Cuch and Wendell Freston with stories by Uleeta Simmons and Jerry Jenks. Mari Duncan and Amy Cesspooch were met at the Salt Lake airport by Mari's parents as they flew from Kanosh, Wis. for the holidays. They are enrolled at a school there. The Lynn Haslems of Beaver were Double birthday to be honored at open house The families of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Timothy and Mrs. Grace McDonald, would like to invite everyone to an open house for their parents, in honor of their 80th birthdays on January 5 at the Moon Lake Electric building. Pink orchids, burgandy roses and carnations and on the tables pink candles with white lace tablecloths over pink. The bride was lovely in a gown of white with fitted waist and long lace sleeves. It was set off by a Spanish lace veil. Her bouquet consisted of baby orchids and burgandy roses and baby breath. Donna Stevenson served the bride as maid of honor and Mrs. Michael Warden was matron of honor. Their gowns were long pink crepe and their flowers were a single orchid in a bouquet of burgandy and pink. Mrs. Kip Thacker and Mary Lou Atherly were bridesmaids and Brooke Alexander, Jodi Warden and Bonnie Evans were flower girls. They wore dresses of burgandy and pink and carried baskets of roses. The mother of the bride was dressed in a long jersey dress of burgandy with an overlay skirt of nylon. Her flowers were orchids and rosebuds. The grooms mother wore a long gown with a velvet burgandy skirt and a white lace top. Her flowers were also orchids and rosebuds. Danny Atherly was best man and Gil Alexander and Bart Lindsay were ushers, along with Pete Watson. The wedding cake was three tiered. In charge of serving was Mrs. Gardner. The bridesmaids took care of the gifts and guest book. The bride chose for her going away ensemble a pink and navy pant suit. Due to the weather the bride and groom spent their honeymoon at Bottle Hollow Resort. The newlyweds will make their home in Logan where Ben will continue his education at USU. Cyndi graduated from Altamont and attended Henagers Business college.
