By locating and placing a surveillance on these members of the Venceremos Brigade, the FBI soon learned that one of them was serving as a mail drop for Miss Yoshirmura. Further surveillance then led to her hideout on the West Coast and the capture of her and Miss Hearst. Had the two government agencies been barred from keeping files on the Venceremos Brigade or from keeping its members under surveillance, FBI officials say privately they probably would still be looking for Miss Hearst and Mr. and Mrs. Harris. Information gathered by the of FBI in their surveillance friends of Venceremos Brigade Miss Yoshimura also led the FBI to another terrorist leader. Leonard Hadelsman, one of the founders of the nation's premier terrorist group, the Weather Underground, was captured in Seattle on Sept. 24. CONNECIMPORTANT TION This uncovering of the linkage of members of the Venceremos Brigade with other terrorist groups is considered highly significant for several reasons. Center for Federal Policy Review THE COST OF WAR. Foreign countries owe the U.S. over $55 billion in principal and interest. About $23 billion of this stems from World War I (which ended 57 years ago) with the remaining $32 billion related primarily to World War II loans. It is interesting to note that our debtor nations include two of the OPEC countries, Iran and Indonesia, that participated in the oil embargo and are still ripping us off through unconscionably high oil prices. Russia still owes us $1 billion from World War II and Egypt about as much. And Panama, which is demanding a new treaty to give them eventual control of the U.S.-bui- lt Panama Canal, owes us almost $175 million. This is a sad state of affairs and I continue to favor firm action to obtain payment of these ' foreign debts.
