Additional sign-u- p sessions will be held on July 19 and July 30 at the same location On May 24 the sign-u- p period will run from 10 a m. unul noon. On July 19 the time is 9 a m. to noon; and on July 30 the session will run from 6 p m. to 8 p.m. Those ages 8 to 15 as of Sept. 1, 1997 who are living in the Woods Cross High School area are eligible to participate. Players need not be experienced m playing football. The season begins in August and may run into November. Numbers may be limited, so organizers suggest that players register as soon as possible. Fees are $125 to $145. A summer payment plan is available with deposit. The camp is sponsored by the Catbackers, a booster club for Woods Cross basketball. Meanwhile, Viewmont's Danna Rast smoked the competition in the 100 meters and 200 meters, and the Lady Vikes won both the medley relay and e finish as a team relay to earn a Region 2 mens champion Davis High 10 was superb in the hurdles, hurdles and pole vault where they racked up 48 of their 64 team points en route to a fourth-plac- e state finish The Darts lost some points when Greg Flint pulled a hamstring in the 200 meters final Bountiful High finished first in the javelin and second in the medley relay to place seventh as a team. Viewmont men scored 20 points for an 11th place finish and seventh Davis girls placed Bountiful girls finished in 14th place e Woods Cross ladies earned an finish. Davis scored a whooping 21 points in the hurdles when Greg Flint and Danny Elggren finished first and second with Jason Evans sixth. The Darts scored another 17 points with three athletes placing in the top six in the pole vault. Merrick Jackson placed first with a vault of 14'9", Ben Romney was fifth and Dave McKenna was sixth The Wildcats ran up their totals with 15 points in the high jump, 13 points in the 300 hurdles and 10 points in the 10 hurdles. Bryan Kattelman, Jeff Waterhouse and Kevin Galbreath finished third, fourth and fifth respectively in the high jump. Kattelman topped the bar at 6'4", Waterhouse jumped 62 and Galbreath leaped 6'0. Danna Rast of Viewmont concluded a brilliant track season finishing way out in front in the 100 meters with a time of 12.14. She also breezed past the competition in the 200 finals with a time of 25 15 Rast was also an important part in Viewmonts victories in the 4x100 relay and the medley relay. Danielle Romney helped Viewmont qualify for the finals in the medley relay on Friday and then the team of Marianne Millburn, Mary Pitt, Rast and Laura Anderson came through with a superb race on Saturday to win the championship. In the 4x100 it was Jennifer Randall to Millburn to Pitt to Rast for the champi- Emphasis defensive footwork, defensive rotations, fasibreak defense, passing, dribbling and shooting skills Sophomores: 9.30-- 1 '30 a m., fee: $50. Bountiful scored 25 team points and Viewmont 20 Mountain View won the girls 5A meet with 138 points, Orem was second with 68, Viewmont third with 56 5 and American Fork fourth with 50 Davis scored 28 5 points and Bountiful scored 12 points Provo won the boys 4A meet with 86 points. Box Elder finished second with 70.5, Woods Cross was third with 60 points and East was fourth with 57 Spanish Fork won the 4A girls with 130 points, East was second with 63, Box Elder third with 49 and Murray fourth with 46.
