Melvin Lowell Hancock BOUNTIFUL 71, Hancock, assay passed peacefully ai home on May 19, 1997 of complications due to a ten year with struggle chronic lung disease (COPD). Bom at Halford's Camp, MT Aug. 25, 1925 to James Richard and Mary Redford Hancock. Raised in Centerville where he continued to reside until 1940. Following graduation from Davis High School in 1943 he served in the US Army in New Guinea and The Philippines. Mamed for 49 years to Janeen Kirkland. They are the parents of six children for w horn he set an example Bountiful Memorial Art Co. (Kristi), Layton and Jerry, of honesty, integrity and loyalty. Employed for 32 years by Union Pacific Motor Freight Co. where he began as a truck driver and advanced to dispatcher and finally terminal manager L. Hancock, of the Mane. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 6-- 8 p.m. Burial will be in the Centerville City Cemetery. He loved to camp and fish, especially in the Madison River area where he was bom. A 12 year veteran of the South Davis Volunteer Fire Dept. He helped solicit funds for their first ambulance. He was little league coach and mem badge counselor for BSA. He helped organize a 4-- horse riding club. Was a great gardener and fruit growers. Member of the LDS Church. Drive (1100 South). 5 Lucille L. Ford Our loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Olive Lucille Ford Lambert passed away late Saturday, May 17, 1997. Lucille was bom October 31, 1905 in Salt Lake to William Gilhespy Lambert and Olive Frances Patten Lambert. She lived in Salt Lake City most of her life. The past 20 years she has been a resident of Bountiful. She also lived a short time in Centerville and Malad, ID. City Married Merrill C. Ford June 8, 1931 later divorced. from Lucille the graduated University of Utah in 1928, with High Honors and was elected to the Phi Phi National Honorary Kappa Scholastic Society. After graduating she taught school at LDS High School for three years. She also taught school in the Granite School District for 28 years, during which time she taught at years. She also served as a temple worker for 12 years in the Salt Lake Temple, and as a guide at the Lion and Beehive House. She is survived by her son Robert L. Ford, and wife Karen, 7 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. A special thanks to the care givers at the Garfield and Woodrow Wilson Elementary Schools. , Lucille has been active in the LDS Church all her life. She has served in all the auxiliary organizations, including Liberty Slake YWMIA President for 15 request. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon, Wednesday. During the evening youll hear the pipes and drums blended with herald trumpets, organ and performances by the International Childrens Choir and vocal soloist, Juiie Rapp. Mildred Reeves BOUNTIFUL -- Mildred Reeves, age 83, died May in 1997 15, Bountiful, Utah. Mildred was bom Aug. 31, 1913 in Thatcher, Utah, the eldest child of Clarence Stanion and Amelia Anderson Reeves. She graduated (dmission is -- -- from Davis High School and then pursued her education at Weber State University. Mildred worked at Holy Cross Hospital and the Bountiful Community Hospital, where she loved being a nurse. She had a great love for playing the piano, painting and visiting with family and fnends. She taught Primary for many years. Mildred truly loved little children. She will also be missed very much by many special nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, brother, Leon W. Reeves and sister Jeniel Reeves. The family would like to give a special thanks to Life Care Center of Bountiful and Rocky Mountain Care Center, for their care and concern for Mildred. Bom December 13. 1904 in American Fork, Utah, to Alexander Hugh and Francis Eliza Roylance Wright; he was the oldest of seven children. Married Aide LeNelda Cherry April 2, 1931 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had Don Di Lello June (Jimmie) Brown, Geri (Vance) Humphrey, Karlla (Quentin) Gardner, and LaVon (Perry) Peterson; 18 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren; 26 12 great-gresisters, grandchildren; Bertha Anderson, St. Anthony, Idaho; Ruth Moedl, Rexburg, Idaho; brother Hugh A. Wright, St. Anthony, Idaho. Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Stella Redford, Emma Grover; brother, Francis R. Wright; one great grandson. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 20, 1997, 12 noon in the Orchard 12th Ward Chapel, 3707 South 800 West, Bountiful, Utah. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 700 East, Sandy, Utah. 66 wonderful years together and still have eternity to look forward to. He was a valiant servant of his Heavenly Father, suffering great pain all of his life because of polio. He was always smiling, never complained and always had a ready kiss and hug for his family. He had a very special spirit about him that just made you love him. He served in many church callings including a mission to Denver, Colorado, and seven stake missions of which he was very proud. He was a butcher in Idaho before moving to Bountiful where he was a custodian for his ward house until he retired. He was raised in Holladay, Utah, lived in Salt Lake City these past years. Survivors include two sons, Mike and Ryan of Springville; his mother, Thora, Tooele; two brothers and seven sisters. The Exchange Club is a community service, civic organization comprised of men and women working to make the community a better place to live. They meet Thursday mornings at 7:30 a.m. and have a guest speaker every second through fourth Thursdays at the Galaxy Diner. The public is welcome, free of charge to attend these meetings.
