Matching fiscal assistance comes from state sources. Communities and public agencies awarded the funding must match the grant with at least an equal amount of funding. The fiscal assistance programs, administered by the Utah Division of Parksfand Recreation, provide funding for additional and motorized trails, and protection and recreational development of the states riverways. Twenty-tw- o projects in 13 counties received a total of $517,900 in matching fiscal assistance money. trails are open to mountain bikers, horseback riders and nordic skiers. Projects in the Davis County area which will receive funds as part of A portion include; Farmington City requested funds to acquire approximately three acres of land along Farmington Creek for continuation of a trail. This will add 3100 linear feet of trail in the area repaired. Also receiving matching funds riverway enhancement projects south of Davis County Court Complex. Funds approved: $30,000. Bountiful City requested funds to develop an area along Barton Creek. Development will include a group picnic area, several family picnic sites, play areas and nature trails. Funds approved: $56,000. An area in Farmington which will receive funds for motorized trails is Gold HillChicken Creek. This area is located on the ridge above Farmington near Farmington Flats.
