We had a full house, with every seat being taken. We would like to thank all family and friends for their support. Brooke Murdock, a seventh grader, conducted the first song of the evening and did a great job. Thank you to these guest musicians, Shawn Stringham, Jill Gubler, Cathie Nyboe, and Sarah Thompson. Thursday was the bands Christmas concert. Beginning Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Wind Ensemble all performed. Mr. King, the band teacher, is very pleased with his 135 students. This concert was the first for the Jazz Band, Concert Band, and the Beginning Band. There were many people in attendance and Mr. King would like to thank them for their support. Tuesday, MJHs Student Court took a field trip to the District Court in Farmington. They saw people being tried for things like possession of cocaine, robbery, and forgery. It was a great experience for them to see how the court system works. Wednesday, Mrs. Avis classes took a field trip to the Davis Applied Technology Center in Kaysville. The trip was very successful. They learned that you can receive many college credits and save lots of money on college tuition. The DATC is a good place to start out and has many opportunities for high school students.
