Show C4 DAVIS COUNTY CLIPPER Tuesday, August 31 , 1 993 Randalls taught area youth to roller skate for shows Upwards of 250 youth of the South Davis area participated in the roller skating shows and activities originated, taught and sponsored by Kay and Louise Randall in the late 1940s and early 1950s. This talented and dedicated pair took untrained boys and girls and developed them into expert roller skaters, even to a level good enough to put on skating shows and exhibitions in many towns in Utah and surrounding states. The mothers of the kids, sensing the scope and value of what Kay and Louise were doing for their children, pitched in and made beautiful costumes for the various shows. The young folks made many firm and lasting friendships and several went on to win honors in state and regional competition. The Randalls started in the old Soldiers' Memorial Hall, then on a temporary plywood rink in their front yard and finally in the newly-bui- lt Bountiful Youth Center until it burned to the ground.
