Youngsters, under adult leadership learn about animals, ecology, poultry, plant science and crops, energy, machines and machine resources, family engineering, archery, arts and crafts, basketball, backpacking, beads and beading (Indian type lore), community development, drama, first aid, fly tying, fishing, health, imagination in art, leadership skills, leathercrafts, photography, public speaking, dog training and safety. Young people who are interested in learning and enlarging their horizons should investigate the program and parents can offer help through their own experience to further the program itself. Parents are an integral force in developing young people by serving as instructors, or just encouraging their young folks in developing their individual skills. But what goes on behind the scenes is months of work, not by one individual but hundreds of Sevier in County people immersed preparing for the county fair. It all i takes place at the Sevier County Fairgrounds. The Sevier County Commissioner have the total responsibility and opportunity to promote the area and the fair to meet the highest stan-- . dards and objectives for the welfare of the entire population locally. Fair and show officials are public spirited. The satisfaction they get is from the success and participation of area residents who put forth so much effort in desinging, raising or making things for exhibit in the annually held event. They get satisfaction from working well with other people, getting cooperation and appreciation of those attending the August project. The Sevier County executive board is the key to the fair for it establishes all the rules for the to handle body governing regulations, policies, operations of the fair. Under Marvin Ogden, fair director, a board sets up the operations, finances, departments, budgets, premium lists, assists all department heads and their committees decides upon numbers, sizes, ages, types, kinds and conditions of all exhibits and "works towards running a smooth operation from beginning to end of the annual held event. The executive board has a responsibility and authority of the fair for the benefit of fairgoers. No individual has authority, except by permission of the executive committee.
