FARMINGTON tons future Foxglove Shopping Center and Burger King will both signs, thanks tct sport a variance in the citys sign ordi nance. The law limits sign height to 15 , feet in a business district, according to City Planner Bob Scott. On June 2, the citys Board of Ad--r . justments made exceptions to the,' rule after safety and visibility factors were cited. The two businesses will be lo- - ; cated near the intersection of Highway 89 and Shepard Lane. Smiths Food King, as part of the.'. Foxglove Center, is scheduled to open June 29. Construction on' Burger King was planned to begin, June 13. Scott said the signs will be more visible from Highway 89. In'?" Farmington proper, all you will see is the side of them. If shouldnt bother the people right next to them too much. The nice thing about the variance is that it doesnt set a precedence and doesnt mean that anyone else can get that type of? sign, Scott explained. Poor visibility, especially from? d corridor (Highway a 89), was one factor cited. They proved they had very(j poor visibility in what the cityu has designated as the prime com- -, merical area, Scott said.
