Show 10A Lakeside Review, Wednesday, March 25, 1987 Ward Relief Society hears history of Farmington :JO-AN- CALLAHAN . Review correspondent , : FARMINGTON The women of the Farmington 9th Ward decided to do something different this year for the annual Relief Society birthday celebration. They turned an outing into a service project On March 21, they met at the Farmington Rock Chapel and di- vided into groups. Each group visited a historical site in the city. Armed with tape recorders, the women listened to a detailed explanation about the site. They then returned to the Rock Chapel and boarded a bus. Taking a sack lunch, they heard the individual groups explain what they learned about the locations. The tapes giving the oral histories will be transcribed and made into the booklet for the ward and other interested residents. Chairman Martsie Webb said the project has four goals, including promoting sisterhood and providing a community service by compiling a book to be presented to city officials.
