At a recent Dav is Board of Education meeting, it was announced Whipple, an active member of the Sunset PTA, would serve as the school board representative for Precinct 5, serv ing the northern end of Davis County. Whipple will replace Parry, who announced his resignation in a letter addressed to Superinten ARLENE HAMBLIN Review correspondent dent Lawrence Welling Aug. 12. Parry said he resigned from the board because he will begin teaching physical education and health at Clearfield High this fall. Homeowners agreed to cover half the cost of the materials for a fence to be erected on the south side if the city pays for the other half and installs the fence. Approximately 1,025 feet of fencing is needed. City Recorder Michael Moyes said the total cost of a five-fofence would be about $1,080 for materials and would ot take about three or lour days to install. Mayor DeLore Thurgood said the city ordinance to require fencing was not in effect at the time the subdivision was approved. The proposal was tabled and will be placed on the agenda for the councils next meeting. The council presented a $50 savings bond to Joe Hitt for the winning slogan in the recent city slogan contest. The Hitt family submitted the slogan, Looking to the Future. REACT is an organization of volunteer citizens band radio operators. Recognized for the time they dedicated to the organization were Earl and Vera McMullin, i Willis Glover, and Ben and Linda Horejsi. John Brydson received the top ranking award, the Monitor of the Year, for the countless hours he spent monitoring. Monitoring coverage was especially important during the three summer holidays.
