Not really, said coach Tom Browning. They took it a lot better than I expected they would. I think they realized that on that day they were beaten by a better team. Browning said. South Ogden played what I thought was an excellent game for kids that age. We stayed with them through the first half, but then they got hot and hit some outstanding shots from the outside. And they werent lucky shot either. They just played a great game, Browning said. But the Roy team knew what it was like to be able to light up the scoreboard at the right time. J A request FARMIGTON for funding a Winter Olympic feasibility study by Salt Lake Xounty has been turned down by Davis County officials after it clear last week Salt Lake City would probably not be cho- sen to host the 1992 world event. Salt Lake County asked several larger surrounding counties to .t help finance the study. Davis County commissioners $aid they felt since the chances of the event coming to Salt Lake were almost nil, the $5,000 re- quest should not be granted. 4 The feasibility study to deter-;- ; rnine if the Olympics can be held Utah will not be completed vuntil the end of April. fV Reports the U.S. Olympic K jCommittee may select its 1992 standard bearer as early as May 5, leaving Salt Lake only a few J,weeks to prepare an Olympic bid to the USOC, made the county hesitant in granting the request, said Davis County Commission Chairman Glen Saunders. The USOC can recommend only one city to the International Olympic Committee as a site consideration for the future event. The location for the 1992 games will be selected in late 1986 by the IOC. Salt Lake City Mayor Ted Wilson, who recently returned from a meeting with the IOC in Calgary, Canada, said if the May 5 date is correct, the city will ask the USOC to delay its selection decision until this fall. The city is still hoping to make a favorable bid for the 1996 Winter Olympics. County Commissioner Harold Tippetts said surrounding counties would perhaps benefit more than Davis County if the Winter Olympics were hosted in Salt r be-xar- 1 j-- fT" HERE ARE SOME CLASSIFIED ADVERTISING HINTS: 1 2 iUMWf,WWpi.!pW uifaiiwhM r- - ' prospect. & '?
