State, May 20, at , 10:45 a.m. Friends and relatives are to visit with the. mission-2ary at her home after the Sunday ed 7' i services. ; Sister Anderson graduated from Clearfield High and LDS Garage Sale To Boost Park Funds Residents of KAYSVILLE Palos Verdes subdivision will have a garage , sale Saturday, May 19, to raise money for a city park near their homes. The sale will be at the American Savings parking lot in Kaysville from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Hand-mad- e items as well as the usual garage sale fare will be sold. The park, which is located Jpear Barton Ponds between the 50 West frontage road and at about 900 South, lies on property rented by Kaysville City from the state. The city has pledged some money to develop the park, and residents are trying to raise the rest. Plans for the park include mxt wsr. - boweries, playground equip- ment, a jogging path around Barton ponds and backstops, in addition to landscaping. We hope to be able to complete the park in about two years, stated Marion Maughn, a resident of Palos Verdes subdi-vio- n who has helped organize g the park plans. If we wait for the city to provide all the money, it will probably take five or six years to complete the park, she added. Thomson graduated from Layton High and the Layton Seminary in 1983. He also attended Weber State College. He has been actively involved in the scouting programs, earning his Eagle rank with gold and silver palms. He earned his Duty To God award and was named Explorer of the Year in 1983 for the Ogden, Layton area. Thomson has attended many . leadership training seminars, Philmont Scout Ranch and the Boy Scout National Jamboree in 1982, where he was chosen patrol leader and received first place honors in the Western United States division for .his ' flag.
