Show American Legion Auxiliary Vacation Mr. and Mrs. Ray Carter of Payson have been on a months vacation visiting Mrs. Carters son, Glen Badham and family in Barstow, Calif. They then went to San Jose, Calif, where they spent Thanksgiving with Mrs. Carters three sisters, Ann Lerwill Christensen, Audrey B. Braching and Stella Beer. From San Jose they went to San Diego to visit a brother, Von Lerwill ami family. While in California they also visited Rays two sisters and a granddaughter. The two couples enjoyed spending the evening together. The Spring Lake Culture Club enjoyed its annual Christmas social and banquet. Saturday evening at the Ideal Cafe at Spanish Fork where Christmas magic was evident in the serving area. This delightful, traditional social event attracted 38 persons, including club members and their husbands. The tables were decorated in Christmas colors. Favors, a dish of delicious homemade candy, arranged by the hostesses, marked each place setting. Mrs. Robert Menlove, club president, welcomed all those present and thanked the committee members who had made all the arrangements for the social. She also introduced the guests who entertained with a musical program, An Christmas in song. William R. Stirland and his wife, Barbara Jill Stirland, presented a very interesting program. Their accompanist was Denne Fawson with Stuart Cannon helping. Club members planning the lovely affair were Mrs. Junior L. Lundell, Mrs. Milan Jacobson, Mrs. Grant Lyman, Mrs. A.J. Smith, Mrs. Watson L. Lafferty, Mrs. Elvon Butler, Mrs. Richard Saunders, Mrs. Dale Saunders and Mrs. Vaughn Davis. Camp Spring Lake Daughters of Utah Pioneers met Thursday afternoon at the Ward Cultural Hall for their meeting,' annual social and dinner. Two tables were set, centered with a beautiful Christmas arrangement. Fourteen members were present to enjoy the dinner. The group sang, Far, Far Away on Judeas Plains, Prayer was given by Dorothy Ann Vincent. Glad Tidings, the lesson, was given by Iris Deuel. Captain Elaine Brereton conducted. Minutes were read by Thelma Butler. Gifts were exchanged. LeBaron officiating. Family prayer was given by R.C. Childs. Prelude and postlude music was played by Erma Cloward with the invocation being offered by H.D. Butler. The Singing Mothers sang, Sister, Thou Art Mild and Lovely," directed by Ida Greenhalgh and accompanied by Erma Cloward. Myron Olsen was the speaker followed by a vocal solo, The End of a Perfect Day, by Carl Nelson, accompanied by Betty Winegar. Della Hudson gave a tribute with remarks being made by Bishop Arden LeBaron. The closing song, Peace I Leave With You," was sung by the Singing Mothers. The benediction was offered by O. Doyle Crook. Burial was in the Santaquin City Cemetery under the direction of Fred H. Holla-da- y, mortician, where the grave was dedicated by Lorenzo Clark. Pallbearers were Ernest Ahlin, Gary Wilde, Wendell Wilde, Stephen Bettis, Max Holman and Reed Peterson. business Harvey Hutchinson has returned to his home in Payson after spending some two months in Phoenix, Ariz., with his son, Quinn, and wife Marian, and their three chilfren. The Quinn Hutchinson family recently moved to Phoenix after residing in Chicago, III, for several years. Mr. Hutchinson operates his own business as a civil and structural contractor. Mr. and Mrs. L. Mrs. Rex (Marguerite) Friat and small son, Daryl, from American Fork visited at the home of her mother, Mrs. Gilbert Peay. She attended Relief Society on Lee of Nathan son Simmons. He never married. Mr. Simmons was educated in Payson schools and was a veteran of World War I, having served in the Army. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of the LDS Church. Survivors include eight brothers and sisters, LeeSimmons, DonSimmons, Mrs. Anna Storrs, all of Salt Lake City; Glen Simmons, Mrs. Florence Kay, Provo; Mrs. Neldon Christensen, Spanish Fork; Earl Simmons, Henry Simmons, Payson. Mrs. Lois Sorensen, Palm Desert, picked her up and they went on to Lompok, where she spent two weeks with her daughter, Florence, and husband, Conrad Neth. She attended Sunday School, ReliefSociety and Sacrament meetings in variousplaces during her months visit. Mrs. Allgood arrived home last week and learned on Sunday of the death of her aged aunt, Florence Unsworth, 87, in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. George LeFevre went to Provo and then to Orem on business last Winkle when giving morning, Helen Peterson Thomas age 58, of 55 No. East, Spanish Fork, Utah, died December 15, 1970 at 1:35 a.m. in the Payson City Hospital of a sudden illness. She was born inSterline, Alberta Canada on Feb. 5. 1912. Her parents were Lewis Peterson and Cathrine Anderson. She married Grant F. Thomas on July 24, 1937 in Calgarey, Alberta, Canada. The marriage was later solomonized in The Cardston LDS Temple, Alberta Canada. They moved to Utah in 1960 from Canada. She was active in the Relief Society of the LDS Church, a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and received her education in Canada. Survivors include her husband of Spanish Fork; 2 daughters and one son: Mrs. Roger (Teresa) Moosman, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Aifred (Mary) Reynolds, Payson, Utah; Robert F. Thomas, Williams Lake, British Columbia. Six Grandchildren, 3 sisters and 2 brothers: Mrs. Clifford (Marjorie) Todd, Mrs. Gler (Lucille)Ham-ilto- n. Byron Peterson and Milton Peterson, all from Lethbridge, Canada. Mrs. William (Cleo) Funk, Salt Lake City. The funeral will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Spanish Fork 8th Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Vernon Carlson officiating. Friends may call at Linde Mortuary, Spanish Fork Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. until time of services. Interment will be at Spanish Fork City Cemetery under the direction of Linde Mortuary. 500 died Mrs. Arva Allgood returned home December 10th after a pleasant visit in California with relatives. She left Payson November 10th in company with her son. Ear! Allgood and spent two weeks with him and his wife and family at Palm Desert.
