Show I - 4-- H BLUE JAY CLUB The Blue Jay H Club was held Dec. 5 at the home of the leader, Lola Jacobson, called to order by Mary Jo Roberts. Prayer by Tamira Christensen. N O T E - S CHRISTMAS SOCIAL All camps of Daughters of Utah Pioneers in South Utah County met Thursday afternoon at the Spring Lake Cultural Hall, where their annual Christmas Social was held. The Madrigal Singers of Spanish Fork High School, under direction of Elmo Keck, Pay son, were featured on the program and sang a number of selected songs, with Clark Spencer playing piano accompaniment. Mr. Spencer was joined by Kathy Bliss in playing a piano duet. Mr. Keck and his wife, Sherrill, sang two vocal duets accompanied by Kathy Bliss at the piano. The program was arranged by Dorothy Christensen and Irean Peterson. Maxine Moore, president, was in charge. Doris Jensen offered the opening prayer, and the opening song was conducted by Tillie Haskell with Grace Fielding at the piano. A Christmas treat was presented to each lady by Mrs. Moore, Ethel Hirst and Thelma Taylor, members of the presidency. Gibson and daughter Laurie, all of Ely, Nevada. son-in-la- w, Mrs. Mary Horton returned home last Sunday evening after spending the week with her sons and families, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Horton, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Carter, her son Keith and family, Mrs. Larry (Anna Clair) Beck and children returned home with her after enjoying the family and Thanksgiving at Ely, Nev. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Okelberry spent Thanksgiving and the week end at the home of their daughter, Mr. and Mrs, Jackson Fitzjerald at Draper. News - THE COUNTY LIVESTOCK CLUB The meeting of the County H Livestock Club was held December 3. President Allan Newton called the meeting to order. Prayer was offered by Rex Kay. Pledge of allegiance was given by Jeff Wolf and the pledge by Brent Jasper-so- n. The mirutes and roll call were taken care of by Jeff Wolf. Brent Jasperson gave a report on Good Rules to Follow When Raising a Calf. A report was assigned to Ronald Newton for next meeting. Projects were discussed and the meeting adjourned. Refreshments were served by Richard Wolf. At the concluding banquet of the Utah Convention, Saturday evening at the Ramada Inn at Salt Lake City, Miss Phyllis Roach of Spanish Fork was chosen Miss Utah Beef Princess, and to complete the royalty, Miss Andrea Robins of Scipio was named first runner up and Miss Mary Wintch, Manti was named second runner up. Preliminary judging was conductedSat-urda- y afternoon directed by Mrs. Glen Larsen of Spanish Fork, chairman, who directed the entire pagent, and the results were announced Saturday evening. Contestants were judged on beauty, poise, talent, and knowledge of the beef industry. They competed in western wear, street wear, and formats. For her talent Cattlemens SENIOR CITIZENS A turkey dinner with all of the trimmings was served to some 193 persons when the holiday season party for Senior Citizens was held Friday evening, December 4, at the Tabernacle. The large assembly room was beautifully decorated in a Christmas theme and long tables were tastefully centered with greenry and fruit. George A. Cheever, patriarch ofNebo Stake, carved the many turkeys that were served. The food committee included Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Pulver, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Christensen, Mrs. Geraldine Broadbent, Mrs. Florence DeMark and Amley Pulver. The hall and tables were decorated by Mrs. Reid Persson, Mrs. Frank Wride, Mrs. Mary Jeppson and Mrs. Mary Curtis. The after dinner program featured the Happy Time Singers directed by Barbara Leatham, with the J. D. Christensens as chairmen.
