Farm Bureau outing Thursday, August 6, 1970 $ L The Annual Utah County Farm Bureau Outing will be held August 13, 1970, 11:30 a.m. at Kellys Grove, Hobblecreek Canyon, Springville. A delicious meal has been planned for those who attend. There will be games for the children. After the luncheon the Talk Meet will be conducted by the Young Farmers and Ranchers Honor roll Pauline Swenson and Val Keetch Culli- -' more of Spanish Fork and Elva H. Olsen of Payson have earned a place on the Spring Quarter High Honor Roll of Southern Utah State College list of 47 students. On the honor roll was Brent Rex Hawkins, also of Spanish Fork. These young people have had a straight A or 4.00 Grade Point Average for the high honor roll and a 3.6 to 3.95 Grade Point Average for the honor roll. To obtain high honor roll and honor roll status, a student must be taking a minimum of 15 credit hours. Committee. The reservation fee will be $.50 per couple or $1.00 per family. Daniels was born December 19, 1897, in Payson. He is a son of James A. and Louie Lenore Price Daniels. His wife, Arlene Bates Daniels was born December 8, 1900 at Payson, a daughter of Edward H. and Rowena Huish Bates. They were married August 10, 1920, in the Salt Lake Temple and have resided in Payson all of their life. Mr. Daniels enlisted in the United States Navy March 27, 1917 and served for 3 years. He served in the National Guard from 1936 to 1941. He has been a member of the American Legion Post 48 The children of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Daniels will honor them Sunday, August 9, 1970 at an open house on the occasion of their Golden Wedding anniversary. Mark Lee Oldroyd, son of Dr. and Mrs. M. L. Oldroyd will present his senior Trumpet Recital, Wednesday, August 12, 1970. It will be held in the Madsen Recital Hall of the Harris Fine Arts Center on the BYU Campus. The concert starts at 8:15 p.m. Mr. Oldroyd will be accompanied by Mrs. Nancy Holt, also of Payson. Mr. Oldroyd has been a student of Newell Dayley for the past three years. He has played in the BYU Jazz Ensemble and the concert and symphonic bands. He was the concert band Directors in 1967-6The recital will be in lieu of his graduation from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Music degree.
