Show f I THE PAYSON CHRONICLE W. 9 R. Thursday, April 9, 1970 call on a rotation basis to make available emergency professional care to the patient. That physician on call may be involved in his own practice or in another compelling situation outside of the Hospital and there may be some delay in receiving professional medical attention. However, the professional nurses are most qualified to handle most all situations until the doctor arrives. 2. The physician on call for the Emergency Room is not available for house calls or for private telephone calls, either from an individual or for an individual through the Hospital. The Hospital will not and cannot issue the name or phone number of the physician on call to any private party. The Family Assistance Program (FAP), a new approch to welfare by providing or rather guaranteeing a minimum annual wage to welfare families, appears to be gathering favorable support in Congress. This administration backed legislation would guarantee a family of four a minimum wage of $1,600 peryear but with some allowance for job earnings, it could go as high as $3,920 per annum plus food stamps. It would be compulsory for adult (and if necessary) for job training. Those failing to comply would be penalized, and children would be cared for (at expense) for mothers who are working or Room r, If I It Picture on the left: The Payton Hospital emergency entrance.
