The show Itself was entertaining with TVs cream of the comedy world acting as emcees . . , But the awards, which are supposed to go to the most outstanding shows and performers in television, seemed to be given out like they were dishes at a movie theater . . . ONE Place Where You Get More for Your Money Than You Used To. n; y, dMfrifMw m Rom where I sit ... fy Joe Marsh Red Finds a "Sweet Solution" Red Jackson found a slick way to get his cows to eat what's good for them. Seems they were pass- ing up the tall green grass full of minerals and vitamins and eating the short grass, which is naturally sweeter. Red solved the problem by spraying a solution of corn syrup over the grass that was going begging. The cows sure went at it. Red says its lucky for him and the cows that svery one of them has a sweet tooth. Next week, according to Red, hes going to have his cows clean t- up all the weedy grass along his fences-- af ter he sprays them with more corn syrup, of course. From where I sit, some folks, like Red, are always trying out new tricks and others stick with the old tried and true methods. Just a question of preference, I guess. Like the way you may enjoy coffee with meals, while I prefer a cold glass of beer. Se lets not allow any bad feelings to crop up by thinking ours is the only choice. Payson Men In The Armed Services Inducted, Released Men Glen Thatcher has been released from military duty, after serving the past two years with the Army. Training at Ft. The general public contribute to all such items. We believe in being generous with the needy and unfortunate but dont believe in saddling our generous payments onto generations yet unborn. We glow with Christian pride as we cite the billions we are giving to nations devastated by war. But we are not givipg them anything. We are adding these sums to our national debt to be paid for by those who are yet to see the light of day. We deplore the grow-intendency of our rulers over the past 20 years to withhold the facts vital to the general public. g From the Southern Standard, Arkadelphia, Arkansas: Man has a brain to choose freedom, but history is a sad record of results under 'socialism to which he has often succumbed. This course has led to servitude and subjugation. Man found lost freedom the price of false security. There is no shortcut to a fruitful life. Man can delegate a few duties to the government, but to maintain his liberty he must not submit to government for with every Samsonite Card Table you purchase this week you get MILLIONS ARE READING ABOUT LIFE IN A TWO-WIF- E MORMON HOUSEHOLD in the 1890s. She said if we kept on writing editorials wed be shot. Then why do we keep on writing editorials? The writing takes little time but it takes considerable time andef-for- t to secure the figures necessary and other data to back them up. And it is often necessary to have the data quickly available for those who question the statements. It would seem that not half the people agree with what we write unless those who object are more outspoken than those who agree. Some even get hostile. One business man here not long ago insinuated that the town would be better off without this newspaper. He is not one of our advertisers but we do not blame him for that. Advertising is to create a demand for a product or offer a service by which both the advertiser and the public may profit. We cannot see that he has anything to offer in that line. He even sends his printing out of town. We leave it to the reader to write his own editorial on a case of this kind.
