Show 't Wednesday December 22 2004 Sanpete Messenger Sanpete Ronald Buster Don Schow ©USUI Alice LaRita Mackey Royce Alice LaRita Mackey Royce iary Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and the Senior Citizen Center She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Saints LaRita enjoyed traveling and dancing reading bowling gardening She worked for hours at a time in her yard and gardens and loved nature She had a remarkable gift with children and animals for which there was ways a special place in her heart LaRita was preceded in death by her husband Thomas J Royce parents infant sister Beatrice and brothers Don and Glen She is survived by a Caroleen passed away Dec 9 2004 at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo due to prolonged complications following surgery La Rita was bom in Manti on Jan 11 1923 to Henry Ann Harry Mackey She attended local schools and during her teenage years participated in band and worked at the Manti Theatre for Bill MacFarlane Following graduation from high school she moved to Salt Lake to attend LDS Business College During her schooling she lived at the Lion House LaRita developed lifewherever she long friendships lived She was employed by Paramount Pictures and Utah Power and Light in Salt Lake In 1957 LaRita moved to Arizona where she helped her brother run a small eatery in Mesa called “The Rockin’ R” She later worked for the Valley National Bank in Scottsdale for many years At times LaRita was both a caregiver and a homemaker to family members In 1974 she returned to Sanpete and was employed in the offices at L& M manufacturing in Ephraim and later worked for the South Sanpete School District’s Food Service LaRita was involved in several community organizations including the Manti Ladies Literary Club the American Legion Auxil- - or Joyce Olsen 283-634- Ronald Buster Don Schow 2004 at 2 pmin the Gunnison LDS Third Ward Chapel Friends may call at Magleby Mortuary on Tuesday from pm and at the ward chapel in Gunnison on Wednesday from Laramie pm Burial will Redmond Cemetery under direction Mortuary Wilson and an aunt Peggy Dell Roberts Funeral services will be held today Wednesday Dec 22 4 after 5 pm Sorenson grandparents Devona Roberts Elsinore and Bemiece Wilson Escalante He was preceded in death by his grandparent Ronald Schow Evan Schow Evan Roberts Leo of Magleby Tell a friend!
