in Gunnison 10 2004 of natural on Sept causes Barbara was bom on Dec 13 1922 to Ephia and Louis Melroy Kjar in Manti She was the youngest member of the family and was raised by a very loving mother and father with one sister and four brothers In her early years she attended schools in Manti and developed many precious friendships As fate would have it she met a young man from Ephraim who was employed at the Manti movie theater where she also worked They quickly became sweethearts His name was Glenn C Bailey On Mar 20 1942 Barbara and Glenn were married in the Manti Utah Temple They started their life together as residents of the ‘‘old Bailey cabin” on the west side of Ephraim They later moved to their current home and lived there 59 years of a very throughout happy married life Here Barbara and Glenn raised five children who were taught values and principles that were such an important part of their lives Barbara was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Saints and served in many capacities with all her heart and soul She will always be remembered for exemplary compassionate service provided to many people in the church and community As a homemaker Barbara was extraordinary experience Traditions were established and carried forward with special emphasis on Christmas Thanksgiving Easter hunting season and mountain camping trips She will be remembered as the mother and grandmother who devoted her entire life to her children and grandchildren always seeking and providing the very best for them all She will always be dearly loved by all members of her handy work and spent countless hours making special crafts and items for her family and friends Joseph Allen Surrounded by his family Glen Joseph Allen of Manti Utah passed from this earth Sept 9 2004 of heart failure in Nephi Utah He was bom June 4 1924 in Ferron Utah to Joseph Laramie Allen and Elsie Emma Behling While serving in World War II he married Juanita Allridge in Lubbock Texas on Aug 7 1945 Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple on Jan 2 1946 Glen worked in several occupations in places throughout the state of Utah including Green River Blanding and Salt Lake City After settling in Manti he built and ran the Temple View Lodge for many years He also turned his hobby of locksmithing into a business Glen’s favorite activity was fishing with his family A highlight of his life was a fishing trip to North Dakota five years ago Glen also was a great gardener often maintaining gardens besides his own He loved to share the produce from his garden with family friends and neighbors As Glen’s health deteriorated he continued to find joy in the simplest things of life Glen w'as an active member of the LDS church and held the of-- grandchildren Funeral services were held Tuesday Sept 14 2004 at 10:30 am at the Ephraim Stake Center Interment was in the Ephraim Park Cemetery under the direction of Rasmussen Mortuary fice of a high priest He served in the Nashville Tennessee Mission with his wife from 1983 to 1984 He is survived by his wife Juanita Allen of Manti and all six of his children Richard (Janette) Allen of Lehi Tom Lee (Paula) Allen of Kays ville Anita GelotT of Manti David Allen of Boise Idaho Nadene (Bryce) Anderson of Idaho Falls Idaho and Janies Allen Manti Glen had 23 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren His brother Lewis Allen of Perris California also survives him He was preceded in death by his parents sister Mary Allen Perkins John Geloff and Maggie Moysh Funeral services were held in the Manti Tabernacle on Monday Sept 13 2004 at 11 am Burial with military honors was in the Manti City Cemetery under the rection of Buchanan Mortuary Glen will be remembered for his humor and his charitable loving nature He always wanted
