For the past 25 Dietitian Ruby Vodak years Registered has volunteered at least 5 hours per month By to the Six County Senior Nutrition Proand gram at no charge to prov ide training nutritional education to staff in addition to reviewing and approving the menus Ruby’s volunteer service represents a savthese 25 ings in excess of $4500000 over for years and has helped make it possible thousands of seniors in these six rural counties to receive at least one hot nutritious meal a day Thank you Ruby f or your unselfish service! The library is sporting a new “do” The eagle scout and his accomplices were busy last Friday laying sod Then it was my job to make sure that it was watered three times a day aM weekend By the time was lookMonday morning rolled around ing like a shriveled up prune Turning the sprinklers on and off reminded me of my old elementary school days jumping rope - you know - waiting for the best time to enter the swinging rope had to wait til the sprinklers were just right race in fumble with the knobs and turn the w ater off before got nailed got nailed more times that not We had an patron the other day looking for information about Topaz Internment Camp and The Gunnison Bend Massacre He was a freelance writer for several newspapers and was trying to dig that he could hope up all the information he sends us a copy Since it is the end of our fiscal year at the library we were scheduled to do ventory for the last two weeks (I’ve ready loaded up on medication to ease the pain of all the lost books) We Things started out pretty good ventoried the J section but when tried to download it into the computer things went amuck The inventory wand was downloading but the info wasn’t getting into the computer It took a call to the tech people got three different people with three different ideas and solutions tried them all - Wednesday Thursday and late afterFriday Finally Friday in the noon it was decided that new software it to was required The tech tried to me several times with no luck so she had to put it in the mail In the meantime Modem a Null was told that needed Cable for the transmission to work proptrick erly but that still didn’t do the is in the mail today hope the software Story hour is going great guns The theme for this summer is Reading Road Trip USA We asked all the kids to send us a postcard from the places they trav el this summer We have received cards from Oak City Salt Lake Idaho and Scipio The oldest group is having a photo contest We had an expert come and talk to them about taking pictures - the rules and tips Then each one got a disposable camera They have three weeks to take their shots following the theme and get their pictures developed Prizes w ill be aw arded for several different categories can’t wait to see what they come up with Is it really only a week until the 4 of July?
