Lloyd K Schlappi and Carol Remund Schlappi Funeral services were held at p m Monday May 7 2001 in the Timpview 3 Ward Chapel 1075 W 1100 North Orem Utah Friends called at the Timpview 3 Ward Chapel on Monday from 11am until service time Bunal was in the Orem City Cemetery immediately following the services Services are under the direction of the Relyea Funeral Boise Chapel Carolyn lived in F illmore Brigham City and Richfield Utah where she graduated from Richfield High School She attended Snow College for two years and graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo Utah with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education She used her degree throughout her life m teaching young children She married Kay D Mangelson on August 15 1975 in the Manti LDS Temple They lived in Orem Utah where their six children four girls and two boys were bom They moved to Boise ID in March 1993 with Kay’s Employment Carolyn’s life revolved around music She loved to sing She sang in the LDSSA choir and ROTC ‘Footprints of Freedom’ in college She sang to the children as they grew up and instilled in them the desire for good music The greatest enjoyment during her ness was her children singing to her and her ’other’ daughter playing the violin Carolyn was a woman of quiet humor full of faith with a strong testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ She served in many callings in the LDS church teaching classes serving as a counselor in the Relief Society and Young Women’s and President of the Primary She devoted much of her time and energy to serving others throughout her life She is survived by her husband Kay six children: Kaylynn & Kyle Jibson of Loomis CA Jami & James Thurber of Boise ID Kevin Jodie Ann Jana Lee and Kasey her father Lloyd K Schlappi married Dorothy White Rogers December 4 1964 in the Salt Lake Temple Dwain graduated from Della High School and attended the University of Utah He worked for eight years in Lynndyl for the Railroad as a chemist in the water treatment plant He was the Postmaster in Oak City for twenty years and was a lifelong farmer He loved being in his field raising crops and feeding calves Dwain served as local president of the Farm Bureau as a board member on the BLM Grazers Committee and as secretary of the Oak Creek Irrigation Company He was City Marshall in Oak City for two years He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Saints He served a mission to the Northern States in 1927 - 1929 and served a second mission in the Arizona Holbrook Mission in 1978- - 1980 He served on the Stake Sunday School Board as a Ward Sunday School Superintendent as Counselor in a Bishopric as Gospel Doctrine teacher and as a Home Teacher Dwain loved music and made a hobby of collecting good music He
