cared for and those of the care giver over 65 being the fastest growing segment of society Our library has some books which might be helpful in making both parties as comfortable as possible suggested by mental health centers The library does not assume the position of giving medical advice but of supporting that advice when given by those qualified to do so Books on relieving stress smoothing out relationships achieving self esteem and spec ifics about certain diseases etc are offered to patrons We do encourage patrons to see what we have andor order other recommended books from Interlibrary Loan One of the books often recommended is “Passages" predictable crises of adult life by Gail Sheehy which helps the rcadcT to see what can normally be expected at a given age in life Our newest book on the subject is “We’ve Got To Do Something About Mother" by Marilyn Richardson and J Ryan Richardson which discusses the options available when a loved one can no longer care for themselves Eleven case studies illustrate some solutions The LDS August magazine “the Ensign" discusses the problem and offers one solution which fit in with the other family members activities giving company care and closeness the patient illness The magaduring the zine is also on our shelves The statistics given on channel seven last Sunday were surprising and almost alarming for the projected population age
