Utah will use less gas once it is wanned up You should also avoid idling the engine for periods longer than 30 seconds It is to turn off and restart more As Earth Day approaches many people are wondering what they as individuals can do to protect nature Keeping your automobile in top condition is one thing that can help the environment--ansave you money The Utah Department of Transportation offers the following tips on car care and maintenance: tires Keep your inflated your engine Use alternate transportation Instead of driving your car a few blocks walk Walking is better for your health better for the environment and is a lot easier cm your car If you drive to work consider joining a car pool or airing the bus properly Underinflated tires can increase your vehicle's resistance and decrease your gas mileage by up to 5 percent Using radial tires can improve your gas mileage You should check your tires every two weeks to make sure they’re properly inflated Don’t “top off” your tank when refueling By topping off your tank you crease the possibility of spillage Also putting extra fuel into your tank can force gasoline vapors into the air that would normally stay in your tank Change your oil and check all fluid levels The better maintained a car the less it pollutes When you change your oil remember that used oil can be cleaned and used again Many professional service centers will recycle your used oil or dispose of it properly Keep your car clean A clean car has reduced drag and better fuel efficiency Avoid short trips Short trips waste fuel and increase wear and tear on your car If short trips are necessary try to combine as many errands as you can in one trip An engine Announcement The Millard County Cattlemen’s Assoc would like to announce their new
