significant Impact Grasshopper and Mormon Cricket Control on the Flahlake National Forest portions of Millard Juab and Sevier Counties Utah USOA Forest Service Flshlake National Forest Fillmore Ranger District The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) desires to control grasshoppers and Mormon crickets on up to 20000 acres of the Pahvant Range and the Canyon Mountains during 1990 The area to be treated includes the lower elevations along the north south east and west portions of the Canyon Mountain Range In addition the area along the National Forest Boundary south of Kanosh Utah from Dual Springs south across Dry Wash and Dameron Canyon may be included The area above the town of Joseph is included to cover new outbreaks of Mormon wickets on the Pahvant Mountain Range along Creek The objective is to reduce the grasshopper and Mormon wicket populations which have caused damage to range resources and nearby agricultural croplands for the past five years The areas deswibed are expected to have high densities of grasshoppers and wickets again in 1990 An Environmental Assessment (EA) covering these treatment projects has been prepared and is available for review in the
