Swimming Lessons Session one of the West Millard Community Swimming Pool’s winter swim lesson program has begun session two will start Monday October 31st Registrations for the second session an be made by calling the pool at Aqua Aerobics Aqua Aerobics is being offered at the West Millard Community Swimming Pool The class will be held at 10:00 am on Monday Wednesday and Fridays Each course runs for three weeks and the cost is SI 350 To register for Aqua Aerobics call the pool at Swimming Pool News The boiler at the West Millard Pool running so much more efficiently now that it has been renovated Guess it was worth putting up with cool swimming water for a few days Last winter the boiler had an awful time keeping the pool water and the building warm it just wasn’t running up to par is Richard Mayber the pool’s maintenance man decided it was time to rejuvenate the boiler this summer If a boiler company would have come to the pool to rebuild the boiler it would have cost the recreation district thousands of dollars Instead Richard read up on the manuals and brochures for the boiler and did the work himsdf He did an excellent job and saved the board a huge amount of money The boiler hasn’t run this good in years Between the new insulated pool blankets and the boiler running efficiently the pool should experience a much better winter than last year The pool had a shakey beginning 9'i years ago when nothing worked right Now everything is running great the pool has come a tong ways Since the 50 Mile Club started a few years back at the West Millard Pool 77 swimmers have completed at least 50 miles of accumulative swimming These swimmers names are on dividual plaques and are hanging in the pool lobby 30 swimmers have completed at least 100 miles and 12 swimmers have gone at least 200 miles There are two swimmers who have swum 300 miles and one swimmer who has passed the the 400 mile mark All these swimmers names are on larger plaques Several hundred hwimmers have joined the pool’s 50 Mile Club since its inception seven years ago It would be interesting to tally aH the miles which have been swum by the West Millard Pool’s 50 Mile Club members the total would probably be close to 20000 Edith Finlinson slipped and fell in the pool’s dressing room last July and broke her wrist severely Her wrist has healed nicely and she is back swimming The pod management is certainly glad to see her back and doing so well West Millard Pool’s Swim Pass Sale $M M PI K One year single and family swimming passes will be on sale at the West Millard Community
