made a business trip to Provo last Monday Mrs BN (LaDawn) Williams and children Shanda and Byron were here visiting relatives They divided their time and were overnight guests of her Garth and Carma Swallow brothers and family Kent and Peggy Swallow and children and in Fillmore with her father Bert Swallow and his wife Algie The Williams arrived July 26 and returned lo their home in Henderson NV July 30 Jay Robison his wife Susie and their children Jarvis Jerek and Mindi made a quick trip here to visit his mother Peggy Robison and Susie’s parents Delvin and Audeen Gregerson in Fillmore The Robisons combined a business trip with their visit Jarvie stayed for a longer visit Jay and family returned to their home in Moab Dean and Sharia Bolis are here visiting his sisters Donna Crapo and husband Kent and children and in Fillmore with Gail Robison and husband Reed and family Dean is formerly from Wisconsin Sharia is from Pro- on Mecham Karen Kerby Uvonne Varney LUAU MAUI Sandy Ashley family reunion to always be remembered FILLMORE Angie Green Gale and Mildred Edwards formally of Fillmore recently returned from Mildred is the a trip to Hawaii of Elva Goulter who now daughter resides in Delta They were accompanied by their seven Varney Orem Utah Shirleen Beutler Sacramento California Utah JoLene Mecham Wallsburg Kaye Bell West Valley City Utah Pat Doutis Magna Utah Karen Kerby Riverton Utah Sandra Ashley West Valley City Utah Their only son Bob of Kearns was unable to attend They left from Salt Lake on June 21 They spent four days on the island of Oahu at Waikiki While on Oahu they visited the Polynesian Cultural Center where they had a lovely Hawaiian buffet and later in the evening attended a show of the Polynesian spectacular dancers doing the native dances from each of the islands in the South Pacific They also visited Pearl Harbor and the Arizona Memorial the LDS Temple Waimea Falls Hanauma Bay and they drove across the island through the pineapple and sugar cane fields On June 25 they flew to the island of Maui and spent t'ree days at Kihei There Gale and four of the daughters chartered a boat and spent the day deep sea fishing Gale caught six tuna which they all enjoyed at a barbecue that evening at the Kamaole Sands Condos where they were staying They visited the old whaling village of Lahaina and spent the rest of their time lying on the beaches enjoying the ocean The night prior to departure they attended a luau where they enjoyed the island dishes and the Polynesian entertainment The group returned to their homes David Rowley and little daughter Cassandra of Sandy spent Saturday night and Sunday with Ray and Gwen Rowley Little Cassie was one year old on Monday August On Juh 29 1988 beginning at 2 pm the Daughters of Utah Pioneers East Millard County Company General Board held a seminar for East Millard Camp Officers at the Little Rock Schoolhouse in Fillmore Beginning in Sept the new camp officers who were elected in March will term in office The begin their purpose of the seminar was to acquaint the new officers with the responsibilities of their offices The new camp captains are Fern Haldaway Emily Ray Camp Lena Old Mill Camp Snyder Mary K Davies Old Capitol Camp Florence Robins Round Valley Camp Dathel C Whitaker Sally Kanosh Camp and Marie Payne Janet Duncan Camp who will be serving a second term The EM General Board furnished the program and the refreshments Algie Swallow is proud to announce the birth of a new grandson He was born Aug 3 1988 at the hospital in Blackfoot Idaho His parents are Bill and Ruth Stephenson Hammond He has three brothers and three sisters making a total of six children On July 29 Algie Swallow’s daughter Julie Stephenson of Ogden and spent the came to Fillmore weekend with Algie and Bert While she was here she and Algie attended the Stephenson Family Reunion held in Holden on July There was a jolly crowd of more than 250 Stephenson family members joining in games at the park and a dinner served in the church recreation hall after which they all went to McCornick to visit the Stephenson farm which is under new ownership now Thomas Algie’s Stephenson purchased the home that once belonged to Allen and Algie Stephenson He is a retired veterinarian and has been He and his wife living in California Bernice Turner Stephenson are deeply involved in remodeling the Stephenson home During the reunion the Stephenson clan toured the home and greatly enjoyed the experience On Sat July 30 Marjorie McBride her daughter Rosilyn Warner of St George and her two daughters Marcie and Robin traveled to Provo where two they spent days shopping for school clothes enjoying fine meals and a night at the theatre They also drove the Spanish Fork and visited Marjorie’s sister 15120 vo He has just graduated in diesel mechanics and will be teaching diesel engineering at the College of Eastern Utah Mrs Tom (Kerry) Quigley and their children except their two oldest sons who have employment and were not able to come came to Utah from their home in LeGrand OR They arrived about three weeks ago They have been visiting with her mother Peggy Robison and brothers Jaron and Jeff in Fillmore and sister Kae Starley and their families Also Tom’s parents Glen and Audrey Quigley of Fillmore and their family Tom Kerry their children and niece Trev Starley traveled to Ft Collins CO where they lived while Tom was a forest ranger and also attended school On July 31 the families of Glen and Audrey had a reunion John Ivie his wife Becca and baby Lindsey spent July 28 with their grandmother Virgie Ivie They treated grandmother to dinner at Paradise Inn They left for their home in El Paso TX where John is enrolled at the university for his senior year and Becca will be teaching school They will stop on their way home to visit with grandfather Doyle Mooseman in Boulder and in Flagstaff with mother Jewel Bowman The Ivies have visited her parents in Portland and her grandfather in San Francisco Virgie had a visit with Ed' rd and OR Mary Em Hanson of Portland Edward is a cousin of the late Delial Ivie They are guests of Mary Em’s parents Chris and Rose Christensen attended OverThe annual night campout will be held this Friday August 12 at the Holden Park at the A Church potluck supper will be at 6:00 pm with lots of fun activities Kimo Coray from Nephi living outside tne Fillmore City limils It was reported that some have already paid their fees for the year ending June 30 All Town Boards were contacted to see whether they chose to pay a total sum (‘ess than ind:vidual families would pay) for their citizens Apparentelected to pay as did ly no town Meadow last year "i'herefoie each family will be assessed S50C for the year This is a very small fee compared to other towns who ail pay from $10 to $30 FER PERSON for the use of a library outside their residential limit (Fillmore citizens’ fees come from their city taxes) These fees are now due
