where they saw many interesting things One of the highlights of their tour was a canoe show presented by the students from the college Hawaii representing Samoa New Zealand Fiji Tonga Tahiti and Marguesas They had dinner at the Center and watched the show at night The next morning they took the flight to Kona on the island of Hawaii They rented a car and drove to the volcanoes and Hilo and through the Parker Ranch one of the largest cattle ranches in the world The morning of the 15th they boarded a plane bound for Kauai and their new hotel the Hotel Kauai Beach Boy which was located on the ocean front They toured the island by car going to the north end to see where the movie “South Pacific” was filmed back down the coast and then took a boat up the river to the Fern Grotto where they were entertained by Hawaiian singing and hula girls dancing On Sunday Apr 17 they took a flight back to Honolulu changed planes and flew back to the LA International where Gary met them and took them to his home The next morning they drove to Mission Viljo where they visited for two days with Fern’s son Larry Hampton and family While they were there they toured a few points of interest including the Old Capistrano Mission On Apr 20 they drove home by way of Palm Desert wehre Sheldon lived before moving to St George They spent the night at Sheldon’s home driving on home the next day This was a fabulous experience for Myrtle Fern and Sheldon They are senior citizens and Sheldon being the is 80 years old Quite a trip big brother for this plucky senior bids will be received at the
