Alley in what used to be called the “Little Theater” now the Alternative was a Learning Center huge success The Delta High School body enjoyed the scares and thrills of one of the best Spook Alleys ever presented in Delta chains rattled Curdling screams weird sounds were part of the background The spider lady sat on her throne and directed a seance a ghostly hand frightened people away from her table on to move scares and thrills Snacks were offered to all guests as devils stew dragon’s they entered blood cocktails cow eyes and brains ala scrambled Coffins were on display with Draculas bride in one and also the terrible Dracula in his own coffin A reflection of the beautiful girl became a horrible sight when faced directly There sat a black hooded mother rocking a skeleton and also wouldn’t you know it the hangman did his dastarda grim ly deed Monsters roamed reaper was wandering ready to grab whomever was willing There was even a headless blonde and a mad lady wanting everyone’s soul There was a mad scientist cutting a leg from a tortured man A swat team directed the flow of traffic through the tunnel of doom Many posters were drawn by the students A monster sat at the front door encouraging everyone to step in to the parlor of horrors The Alternative Learning Center staff and students extend a thank you to the Nickle Mortuary Terrell Meats and all how the music department helped make the Spook Alley a success South of the Border Down Mexico Way dinner fl ft u t" The aroma of Mexican food drifted in the halls of Delta High the evening of October 23 A South of the Border filled the rooms where atmosphere tables decorated with authentic Mexican candlelight and the sound of music set the mood Several students and their guests were in original Mexican dress A Pinata filled with candy was one of the highlights of the evening with MrNoah finally breaking it The can- dy spilled everhwhere with everyone scrambling to get a share The preparation of the the food the table settings and the cleanup were all done by the students All worked t hi K together making the evening an enjoyable one and a successful one Their teacher Mrs Spor made the comment she was Delta High the Alternative Learning Center sold tickets for a beautiful red and white sweater with a white rabbit as a border The sweater was knitted by Sherry Pollard Each student had I Hansen ten tickets Mike Western and Desi Ervin had the most tickets and won a drink from a store donated by Mrs Pollard Chris Finkbiner was the lucky winner Delta Middle School f PWTW Bobbie Wood daughter of Mr and and Mrs Robert Wood of Holden Kelli Hansen daughter of Mr and Mrs John Hansen of Fillmore were selected as Academic Allstate players from the Millard girls volleyball team The girls and their parents were vited to the State 2A Championship volleyball game in South Sevier on Saturday October 31 where each girl was presented with a plaque Kelli and Bobbie have played on the Millard Girls’ Volleyball Team for the past four years Kelli served as team captain this season and both girls are Sterling Scholars this year To qualify for this honor a girl must excel in the classroom as well as Four officers attended the Washington Leadership Conference held in Washington DC They were Glen Swallow President Troy Coats Jeff and Doug Treasurer Quarnberg Dearden Sentinel They learned skills in how to be effective officers The highlight of the trip was meeting President Reagan and talking with Congressman Jim Hansen They also toured the historical sites of tlie area Chapter President Glen Swallow felt the trip was a valuable experience in KSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! developing skills in leadership In August a state leadership conference was held in Ogden All chapter officers attended it This meeting was conducted former by Doug Stott Millard Eagle Chapter president now serving in the office of State President The officers enjoyed sharing their ideas with others from throughout the state In September a barbecue was held in the Ag room as an opening social for all the FFA members to get acquainted After the party they watched a video FFA members were present and enjoyed a good time Delta North Elementary In The News Tradition is a big part of Delta High School and everyone wants to be a part of that tradition This last weekend the Delta High Girl’s Volleyball team at traveled to the State tournament South Sevier High School in hopes of carrying on their 6 yr tradition The Rabbit’s first game Friday night was against much improved Morgan who gave Delta championship as they defeated the Wasatch Wasps last Friday in Heber City Millard struck first when sophomore TD Ty Stephenson scored on a run Mark Charlesworth added the extra point to make the score In the second quarter Millard got into scoring range when QB Matt Quarnberg hooked up with Shawn Rushton for a 51 yard reception With the ball then at the line Steve O’Camb carried it in for a Elementary is happy to welcome Mr Kirk Penney aboard our teaching staff Kirk comes to us from where he has Fillmore Elementary taught third grade for the past two years It is exciting to have another male teacher join our staff Mr Penney teaches fourth grade along with Mrs Terry Finlinson and Mrs Nola Kapler Mr Penney was born in Fillmore Utah He has one brother and one sister He attended Kanosh Elementary and graduated from Millard High School He also graduated from SUSC in Cedar City Mr Penney has lived in Kanosh Blanding and Delta Utah He has also lived in Laie and Hauula Hawaii Mr Penney is always busy He has worked as a farmer and school teacher He for most of his adult lifetime taught school in San Juan School District for nine years prior to returnMillard In his spare ing to County
