Tenpenny Tenpenny to perform in Delta Like the rest of the community the West Millard Cultural Council was disappointed with the cancellation of last months scheduled concert of Horse Sense due to sudden illness of the performers Though regrettable that it happens we all understand that illness can strike unexpectedly and can alter even the best made plans The West Millard Cultural Council in conjunction with the Utah Art’s Council is pleased to announce that a replacement concert has been scheduled for Thursday October 15 1987 at 7:30 pm with a different exciting group Tenpenny For nearly thirteen years Tenpenny has presented the authentic sound of the traditional folk music of Ireland Scotland and England to Utah audiences While maintaining the simple beauty of the original music these four musicians add a freshness and energy that delights both lovers of traditional listeners folk music and Tenpenny performs dance tunes and songs of the British Isles on the Anglo and English concertina tin whistle fiddle mandolin pump organ bodhran as well as on bones and folk other more conventional struments The strength of Tenpenny’s instrumentals is matched by the distinctive blend of vocal harmonies on traditional songs sea shanties and unaccompanied ballads This group performed only last month in our neighboring city of Eureka and was very enthusiastically received We are excited
