He just went to Nephi where his Blade appeared with the new date line and the abbreviated title “The Blade” late in May of 1895! the last number bearing the Deseret address being dated May 22 1895 It was the end of the Deseret Blade though not the end of The Blade and by no means the end of Gibbs whose writings against conditions and influences on his Lake Josiah F Gibbs Millard County Blade blacklist continued until his demise in 1932 A bound file of the Millard County Blade and its Nephite successor The Blade from Wednesday February 13 1895 to Saturday May 30 1896 is in the possession of Alfred Orme at Nephi who was associated with Gibbs at Nephi These papers had eight pages of 6 columns each and show JF Gibbs editor Oddly enough the paper was entered as second class mail matter at the Oasis postoffice a neighborThe Oasis ing village to Deseret postmaster was probably one of the few men in the county who was permitted by the militant editor to say the Blade was “second class matter!” M M M MM M MM MM The Utah Audubon Society’s fifth annual Basin and Range Seminar will in the Pahvant be held May ButteClear Lake Migratory Bird Refuge area south of Delta The seminar includes
