Show Millard Count Chronicle Progress - 14 Annual Report Millard County’s Health Network Delta & Fillmore Community Medical Centers West Millard Care Center Delta Sr Housing Complex Home Care of Delta Home Care of Fillmore Fillmore Community Medical Center A year of progress 1 - West Millard Care Center On May 14 1985 dedication ceremonies were held for the new Delta and Fillmore Community Medical Centers These ceremonies marked the culmination of a project which started in the Fall of 1983 when Intermountain Health Care Inc’s Board of Trustees consistent with its commitment to rural health approved a plan to replace the two but inadequate hospitals located in these communities A continuation of traditional services and increased self sufficiency in primary health care for Millard County were the goals requirdelivery ing expanded physical plants A year later the effort continues towards the attainment of those goals The new 25000 sq ft facility in Delta and 22000 sq ft facility in Fillmore have greatly expanded the ability of the hospital and medical staffs to respond to the health care needs of the citizenry in a competent and efficient manner Patient comfort has been enhanced health care costs have been stabilized and staff effectiveness has been improved through better work flow and facility design But self sufficiency is more than just a new hospital facility or improved hospital procedures Recognizing this efforts have been underway to ensure the availability of broad range services for the residents of the county Home Health Agen cies have been established and licensed for each side of the county As an outgrowth of the wise planning of the West Millard Hospital District Board and consistent with Robert Wood Johnson Grant activities construction was begun on a Sr Citizen Housing Complex in Delta Outreach clinics were established in Oak City and Scipio Lifeline an emergency response program for elderly and valids has been made available New physicians have been recruited to town and improvements have been made to specific programs in Women’s Health Mental and Behavioral Health diabetes education and emergency services More and more the concept of total system integration leading to greater self sufficiency has begun to take shape and fill out But while much progress has been made much still remains to be accomplished And it will take a collective effort from everyone The hospital and medical staffs must continue to give quality patient care IHC must continue to provide the necessary support and resources And the community at large must continue to expand its support of its health care programs and facilities If this collective effort is realized will be but the beginning of an exciting and significant era in health care delivery for Millard County dv |
