Show Page 10 Millard County OAK CITY Martha Anderson Ph: The mutual youth under the direction of leaders Mrs Leslie (Lynette) Lovell furnished and decorated trees for several people in our ward (1st) They also visited others who did not need trees It was a very Christmasy thing to do and it was appreciated by the recipients They met at the cultural hall where they were treated to hot It was the chocolate and doughnuts same evening as the wrestles in Delta so not all the youth could help with this project but the ones who did are to be thanked and congratulated for a job well done Our annual Relief Society 1st Ward was over presided by president party Claudia Hyde Pretty invitations told us of this social Table decorations delicious food a good program and the real Christmas spirit were enjoyed by a large crowd While we were singing carols a few ladies were busy filling pretting decorated boxes with goodies donated by the sisters to be delivered later to the ill the widows and widowers and the elderly Special guests at this party were Mary Pruet her mother Wilma Mary Vaughn Jackson and Grandma Christina Whyte from Ohio Caroline Hutton and her from Calif and with Diane Knight was our new neighbor Judy Eaton A beautiful Christmas angel made some surprise visits around town sharing a Christmas story Sure hope she visits the rest of our town next year Sunday church services Dec 22 were Sunday School and primary combined and did a very special program Ray Arp the narrator spoke loud and clear so that we all could hear The primary did the singing and Jackie Cox song leader along with the children did an excellent job Christmas and children: a very nice combination The choir cantata under the direction of Terry Hyde with Afton Dutson at the piano and Marzella Anderson as soloist made it an hour of easy listening Carols some familiar and some not so familiar were enjoyed by a very large crowd The full time missionaries attended this meeting as did Carolyn Olsen and son with her mother Anne Popcr Mrs Evan Anderson and four younger children spent Christmas in Calif with Merrilie brother and family Brian and Shelia spent Christmas in Provo with sister and niece Julie and Kristy Eloise and Stewart Evans visited family and friends in Springville Ralph Christensen and son Dustin from Orem visited parents Eda and I’SPS Thurs Jan 9 1986 Ralph and sister Alice Mrs Barry (Connie) Egleston and children Saul Vonya Ben John Annette Sarah and David spent Christmas day in North Ogden They took mother Chapman to the home of Lorin and Verna Egleston where they met a sister Carol and Bill Allred and children Troy Laney and Shelia Food visiting and all that makes it a good day was enjoyed by all Connie decided to count was early Christmas morning from Oak City to Leamington none onto Nephi 6 but by the time they reached North Ogden they had counted over thrve thousand Mrs Nephi (Faye) Anderson visited his sister Lavern on their way home from Idaho They had spent the Christmas holidays in Phoenix AZ with their daughter Sharol and Lew 2 and children and in St Riggiero George with son David and Sue and 2 children Students home for the holidays with were Evelyn Christensen parents Ralph and eda Marsha and Mel Mull Lesiel Sherrie and Reece Finlinson Nesa Leon and Lurue Alldredge Lorene daughter of Jed and Carol Finlinson Gary son of Bishop William and Kae Dutson Helen Wright and little granddaughter Steffie took aunt Eda Alldredge and her daughter Janet West to Ogden to aunt Eda’s Christmas club party Eda visited her four children and their families Helen spent time with daughter Betty Ray and Kent Tucker and their 5 children also with her sister Rosalie and Boyd Call and their family Eilene who is attending the University of Utah came home with them for a few days Mrs Marion (Barbara) Anderson had all their children visit them during the holidays except Judy’s family in Calif Car trouble kept them home Dee came and went as she worked part time Mother Nena and Lynda visited them a couple of times Making the holidays special for Jeff Mary and Jason Vaughn have been Mary’s mother Wilma Jackson great Christina grandmother Shyte from Ohio and Mary’s brother Jamie Jackson and cousin Becky Klupp from Phoenix AZ Vaughn’s took their north our beautiful to see guests up mountains and to do some skiing Our Christmas eve Santa Claus par ties are so traditional so enjoyable and so Christmasy that everyone looks forward to them This year’s program under the direction of Nola Kappler was especially enjoyable It wasn’t too long for Hathaway and their three children Codic Derrick and Tyson are leaving Sunday Dec 29 on a move to Mesa Arizona where Mike is employed with the Sunrise Engineering Co Harold and Mac Cahoon held a Birch Family reunion and Christmas party Dec 14 at the Senior Citizens Center The Birch children who attended were Leland and Georgia Birch and family of Allen Barbara and Wood and Springville of Murray George and Myrtle Rowley and friends Paul and Dorothy Beckham drove to Annabclla Utah where they spent Christmas Day with George and Myrtle’s his wife Don son and Cindy Rowley their three sons George Jason and Their oldest son Jared and his Tyson girl friend came from Mt Pleasant to join the family in their Christmas celebration On New Years Day Paul and Dorothy Beckham spent the afternoon at the home of George and Myrtle Rowley where they celebrated George’s birthday with a lovely dinner and presents George’s birthday is January 3rd You’ll have to ask him how old he is Swallow her sister Ruth Algie and Ruth’s son Peterson of Lehi Malcom Stevenson drove to Modesto Calif to spend some time with their brother Dr Clyde Brunson Dr Brunson is 88 years old and in failing health Ruth will stay until the last of January and Algie will be coming home in time to attend the Jan 19th farewell of her grandson Steven Trotticr who will be Steven serving an LDS Mission in Brazil is the son of Algic's daughter Julia Borup of Ogden On Monday Dec 23 Nada Melville went to Sandy to the home of her son his wife Evon Melville Ross and their children where she spent the Christmas week members joining them on Family Christmas Day were Ross’ son Edwin and his wife Regina Melville of Sandy Darwin and Coleen Melville and sons David and Brice of Sandy Lanny and Mcriam Melville and children of and Stcffani and Kevin Highland Middauth of Highland Relatives of Lawrence “Tommy” who came from to attend his funeral were: his son and Dale and Jean Jackson of West and their children Cindy City very much He was a kind gentle caring person who helped people willingly and unselfishly wherever and whenever he could Through every kind of weather he brought the mail to me everyday for two years and every Friday he was in town he picked up my column and delivered it to the Progress office and through the two years was disabled he was a good and caring friend and always available when needed
