total of 27 families were provided with a turkey or ham and gifts for the children that otherwise may have had a bleak Christmas in donations from local Received merchants and citizens was a sum of $700 With some money left over from the 1984 “Sub" programs the Chamber was able to purchase over $1000 worth of gifts turkeys and hams According to Wes Hcward chairman of the Chamber’s Sub for Santa program this could not have been accomplished without those people who participated in donating toward this undertaking He expresses his gratitude and that of the Chamber for the willing help of all value $2500 came from their efforts Adding to the toys were Nona Chesley LoRae Petersen and Starla Hopkins Joy Morrison spent hours selecting toys for the children Thanks from Santa to all involved
