II The Millard Boys Basketball Team was the guest of the Gunnison team last The game was a very Friday night exciting one The teams kept the margin between them very slim They traded off the IcaJ of Tournament The Millard Eagles participated in a wrestling tournament last weekend at Richfield Twelve schools competed Millard did very well Finishing second place overall Searle Mike took first place Wayne Rowley placed second Stan Freeman Robbie Fuller Stacy Stephenson and Whitaker finished fourth and Bryce Aaron Teeples Brian Starley and Adam Rowley took fifth palce We would like to commend thfc wrestlers for their accomplishments Gymnastics classes Gymnastics classes will now be offered in Fillmore beginning January 23 These classes will be taught on Thursdays at Millard High School This new session will run 15 weeks The last class will be May 8 This program is open to kids ages 4 on up There will be one intermediate class taught also The USGF routines will be taught on floor exercise uneven parallel bars vault and balance beam All those terested need to attend a preregistration on Thursday January 16 any time between 3:30 5:00 This will be held in the Millard High Girls Gym (above the water and knows the benefits that swimming gives her while she was living back east she said she loved to go to the lake and swim three or four miles a day The Holiday Dive for Money and Prizes at the West Millard Pool was great fun for all those who par728 colored washers were ticipated thrown into the pool along with $27 in coins The 728 washers were turned in at the pool office for prizes Community Swimming Pool will be offering an American Red Cross Advanced Lifesaving Course starting Monday February 3 The goal of the Advanced Lifesaving Course is to provide the student with the knowledge and skills to save his own life or the life of another in case of an emergency The course lasts approximately 21 hours and the cost is $30 which covers instruction use of the pool and textbooks Swimmers who successfully pass the Advanced Lifesaving Course will be elegible for employment as a lifeguard at the West Millard Pool or any other pool in Utah or the USA For more
