is the son of Vic and Sandy Monroe and his father presented him with the Eagle rank Shane is an active participant in the Program and his Scouting troop with a Den being Chief and a Senior Patrol Leader He has received his "On My Honor" award and attended the Timbcrlinc Training Course Mark Robison received his Eagle rank which was presented by his father His parents are Gladys and Alison Robison Mai k is the Senior Patrol Leader in Troop 201 and participated in the Junior Leader Course He repaired the Training sidewalks in the Somh Paik in Fillmore by pouring three yards of concrete Saturday Dec 21 an enjoyable adult community party was sponsored by the new owners and managers of the Kanosh Merc Loren and Geraldine A ewis (Jen) large variety of refreshments were set out on decorated tables for everyone to enjoy as well as a variety ol music played to fit one’s fancy If you didn’t care to dance you could enjoy visiting while sitting around tables and of delicious the partaking refreshments in A were large congregation attendance at church services on Sunday Dec 22 including family members and friends who were in Kanosh to enjoy the coming up Christmas holiday Sunday School and Sacrament Meeting joined at II am in a special Christmas Cantata "Night of Miracles” presented Ward Choir with Elaine by the Kanosh Halsey as Choir Director Dcannc Perkins as pianist and her mother Cheri and was Dean lee with Narrator organist solos being sung by Glen Whitaker Neva Joy I ee Rocna Shield Carl Blad and Steve Stott Several of the members of the Lamanitc into the Branch were heartily welcomed congregation as church services weren’t held at their Paiutc Reservation A delicious dinner was prepared and served by Nora Price at ther home on 22 Dec Her guests were Melvin and were Mrs Lee Price and son Johnathan Lorrain Whitaker and family prior to Chad’s entering the MTC Other guests were Mrs Lee Price and son Johjnathan Coming from Logan to spend the Christmas holidays with the Willard Whitakers were their daughter Christine Fullmer husband Larry and their three As and Alisha children Tami Steven in Electrical Larry is majoring Engineering electronics being his most exciting subject the Whitakers kept him occupied working on appliances Nora Price left Tucs Dec 24 to be with the Jon and Marianne (Price) Hunter for Christmas and spent an family enjoyable holiday with them Karen and Russell Crook were happy to have their family members home for the holidays Kris and Doug Jones with two Idaho children came from Malad Allyson and David Christoffcrson with their four children came from Lindon Utah Clair who lives in Delta and works Mine joined the family as at the Bcrillium did another son Clark who works at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden and Beverly Christensen enjoyed Virge Christmas Day in Fillmore with their daughter Shelley Cluff husband Shawn and baby 28 Virge and Beverly Dec On Sat Paul were of their daughter guests Johnson husband Clark and children of West Valley City Other family members of the Christensens’ joined them for a belated Christmas dinner and exchanging deletions to the base plan Bids were opened the 19 with Atkin Construction Inc bidder The final conttact is expected to be 1986 with work signed by Jan 20 to begin within 30 days and completed in 270 days Several items in the original plan had to be trimmed to come within the budget The greatest difference was the Art Gallery and outdoor court (including covered doorways and ramps for the handicapped) The proposed gallery was to have replaced the corridor which connects the two wings of the building Handicap entrances will be where the east emergency drive was and at the south of the west wing utility service window and an outside book drop have been donations Special Day January The first for the new year will be an night of fun at the Pod adjacent to the Statehousc Museum A Pioneer Banquet 1800’s Special Birthday Cake and a Quilt Show are on the schedule Some of the finest talent around will be ptesented beginning at 6 pm and repeated at 7:30 pm Food will be served in the same two sessions The menu includes homemade bread milk jam jellies after suffering a broken wrist and other bruises and hurts She was in Salt Lake City to accompany her Melinda Mace to granddaughter New Orleans to attend a dieticians convention Melinda is a dietician Ulala slipped and fell while in SLC The doctor who treated her was very thorough in treating her He told her she just as well go on the journey She could rest in her hotel room as well as home So she followed doctor’s orders and had an enjoyable trip We wish you a speedy recovery Ulala Mr and Mrs Bruce (Nancy) Jackson Nevada of Henderson spent a few days here visiting his mother Noma Jackson his brothers Merlin Darrel and Ted their wives and families and Nancy’s family in Scipio They returned to their home Dec 20 taking his mother to spend Christmas with them Mr and Mrs Rex Allen and children went to SLC Dec 13 to visit her mother Edna Hogan for a short visit and take her gifts They spent that night in Orem with their daughter and Denise and Andrew Adams and Rex’s sister Clarice and family the Royal Hurds They returned home on Saturday Some of the young people from here are home for the holidays from school Jaren Robison is with his parents Mr and Mrs Jarold Robison Lee Ann Christensen with her family the Fred Christensens Candace Swallow with the Kent Swallows Dale Robinson with the LaDcll Swallow Ralph Robinsons with the Garth Swallow family Alicia Bundy with the Dean Bundys and Lucinda Fuller with the Anthony Fuller family Mr and Mrs Dexter Anderson were in SLC Dec 19 attending to business matters Mr and Mrs Leif (Janeal) Alldredge and children Troy Tyler Cindy and baby Dustin have purchased a home in Fillmore and have left this community They will be greatly missed They were an asset to our community helping with civic duties as well as church assignments Surely hope you enjoy your move Their son Dwayne wife Marlene and five children have moved to Flowell from their home in Idaho We welcome Dwayne and Marlene and children and hope they will not be with their here disappointed moving The Ward Relief Society had their annual Christmas party Dec 17 with dinner at 6:30 pm in the Ward Cultural Hall The MIA and Primary organizations helped with decorating New Year’s Gift Reflections It’s New Year’s now and Susie has found out what it means when someone told her that some Christmas gifts Susie’s complement each Christmas puppy and Janet’s rug shampoo Pioneer Market tables arranging for square dancing etc The husbands were invited guests Reports are that everyone enjoyed the good food and fun! Mr and Mrs Rex Allen were in Provo Dec 20 on business Mr and Mrs Clem Utley had their children and grandchildren home for dinner except their Thanksgiving daugher Tami and husband Roland benson and baby who live in Texas Enjoying their delicious bounteous meal was Michael Utley wife Kathy and and children Shane Heather Kate who came from Heber Sam and children Utley wife Joanne Heather and David Sam Jonathan Tony Utley of Fillmore and his friend Stacy Edwards of Salem Another highlight of the day was after dinner when Clem and Lora called Tami and Roland at their home in San Antonio and had a nice visit Tami’s brothers their wives and even the nieces and nephews all talked a few minutes “Wanta bet" the phone bill probably cost a "few cents"? but it would be well worth every penny to bring joy to loved ones far away Mr and Mrs Dean Allen went to SLC Dec 22 to attend a traditional family Christmas party with Shirley’s brothers and sister and their mother Lois Geddes The Allens were overnght guests of their daughter and Vicky and Acel Butcher and daughters at Kearns The Butchers also attended the family gathering Bradley Allen who is employed in Colorado came home Dec 24 to spend Christmas and some of the holidays with his parents Dean and Of course he also said Shirley "Merry Christmas” to grandma Ruth Allen Uncle Rex Aunt Lynn and his cousins Mr and Mrs Grant Robinson went to Kanosh Dec 22 for a visit to their LaNila Robinson and their grandchildren Colby and Brandy Then Grant and Arleen went to SLC Dec 24 to spend Christmas Eve with her brother Lee Peck and friend Tasha at their mother Laura Atha’s home On Christmas Day they visited their sons Kent his wife Colleen and children and Kirk his wife Sherry and children The latter family moved the of December into a lovely new home in a new subdivision in the Rose Park area Grant and Arleen along with Arlene’s mother enjoyed a delicious Christmas dinner at a nice restaurant in Provo on their way home Christmas Day Of interest to we people here and others who formerly lived here is the news that Alan and Teresa Alldredge former Flowell residents now of Fillmore have a darling baby boy born Dec 20 1985 at the Fillmore Medical Center Little Community Nathan Wade Alldredge weighed 8 lbs 8 oz He has two sisters and a brother all excited about their new tle brother Grandparents are Leif and Jeneal Alldredge of Fillmore and Mr and Mrs Merlin Roberts of Idaho Falls is Fay Walker of Delta Leif and Jeneal visited her father Fay on Dec 24 They had taken him a small Christmas tree and decorated it earlier in the month They go often as they can to help him and see to his needs Ron (LaDawn) Mr and Mrs Christmas Berkey of Cedar City spent her and some of the holidays with Allen They Beth and parents Arthur also visited sister and Marlene and Kevin Christensen and Lori children Curtis Casey Angela who live and Cameron Stephanie David here brother and and Vicky Allen and children Kyle and Robert of Fillmore Their sister Sheri and husband Ben Hunter who attend school in Logan were dividing their time with his folks in Holden and Sheri’s family the Arthur Allens also visited LaDawn and Ron Sheri's and Ben’s name was somehow or another left off the guest list of those here for at her the big family parents’ home at Thanksgiving Sorry about that! attended the A large crowd beautiful reception Dec 21 for Anita Christensen Young and her husband Darren Young The bride's parents Robert and Zoe Christensen honored the newlyweds Besides many relatives attending her brothers of Terry Christensen and wife Fay Fillmore and Scott Christensen and wife Kristen of Logan attended also of Rose Christensen grandmother Clinton Fillmore and grandparents of Delta Grandand Thara’Tolbert pa Chris Christensen of Fillmore was unable to attend because of his health Rodger Peterson left the warmer climate of St George to come here to spend a few days prior to Christmas and Christmas Day and several days after with his daughter and and Brenda and Alden Robinson children Scott Suzette and Sallie On Dec 20 Carene Baldwin and her daughter Kim Solberg and little sons Derek and Darin came and brought Carene’s parents Delial and Virgie lvie a beautiful Christmas tree a gift from Kim and her husband Greg and boys They decorated the tree then placed gifts beneath it Derek who has a sweet of little voice sang a number Christmas songs Don and Greg were working so were unable to come On Christmas Day Terry Baldwin his wife Terri Lynn and children Avery JR Kimberly and Kadee of Cedar City stopped in for a short visit with grandparents Delial and Virgie Grandma Virgie asked the grandchildren to sing some Christmas songs which they did and a fine job too! JR recited some cute poems which he did remarkably well Well anyone knows how who has grandchildren “fun" they are Terri Lynn and husband Terry also visited with Boyd and Judy Melville Terri’s parents and a sister who live in Fillmore They stayed overnight on Christmas night and also with her sister Serena visited and her husband Ken Christensen The Ivies received a visit from Mr and Mrs Claus They were a happy have an idea that and jolly Ben and Sheri Hunter were acquainted with the Claus' The Ivies would like to thank the thoughtfulness of many people in Flowell and Fillmore who remembered us this season with gifts and visits and telephone calls You will never know how much we appreciate it Surely hope your holidays were nice and the New Year will be just wonderful for everyone!
