As a team, we have been playing really good defense and pitching the ball really well, Duncan said. I have an awesome defense making plays behind me. Duncan pitched yet another complete game on her way to a 0 start on the season. Sophomore pitcher Brooklyn Beardshear added two hits and two RBIs, securing the 2 win for the Storm. The second game of the double-headwould not be as close. Guided by a huge day from Beardshear, both in the circle and at the plate, DSU ran away from MSUB early on. Sophomore shortstop Josey Hartman, an integrated studies major from Mapleton, said she was very happy with the teams final performance. The first games we played were a little scary, Hartman said. In the last game, our bats came alive and we worked as a team to win. Beardshear notched her first win on the season and knocked out a solo homer in the game. Junior catcher Autumn Wood-fa- ll also blasted a three score home run in the 0 win. The win was the third straight for the Storm, who will face Dominican University to karhkuhn 6-- womens golf making a striking 2015. The womens golf team has nine women on the team. It practices five days a week all over St. George and Washington. Dunn said the best part of golf is having the opportunity to play different courses. Golf is always a new challenge because no course is the same, and even if you have played it before, the conditions could be different, Dunn said. The team has played in only two tournaments this semester, the first at Point Loma University at the San Diego Women's Championship where it placed third. Dunn led for most of the tournament, and the team had an overall team round of 323 on day two. During the fall semester, the team played in four tournaments, where it placed in first, third, eighth and ninth place. The team played at the California Baptist University Women's Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, where it placed second in the first day. The womens golf is not very recognized on campus, but Harmon said the team has a Facebook page a Twitter account with the hopes of increasing followers.
