Show nonpartisan NON PARTISAN convention continued from page two worked up the committee in order of business was the first ready to report and it made its report which included the recommendation that a committee of two be appointed to baic upon the republicans la in convention upstairs and invite them to amalgamate alg amate with the nonpartisan non rion partisan convention and unite in forming one ticket the committee consisted of judge J D call and joseph F hansen haneen who immediately visited the republican convention and extended a verbal invitation vi as the uon convention had directed the republicans advised the committee that a reply would be given tn in writing which was done later mr F W bringing it into the convention and handing lag it to the chairman who read it the reply was unsigned and simply stated that the invitation could not be accepted as the business of the republican convention had gone too far the resolution committee made its report the same being accepted unanimously with the addition of a clause favoring a city market the work of selecting a ticket was then commenced com mene nominations for mayor being first in order without going into details the ticket at the head of this column was placed in nomination there being several candidates for each place with the exception of one or two tn in which cases the rules were suspended and the nominee was named by acclamation cla mation mrs amy wright was nominated for city treasurer but after going over the work of that office a day or avio later resigned as the nominee and miss madsea gadsey was placed on the ticket by the central committee at a meeting held tuesday evening at the of the naming of a ticket a campaign committee consisting of N C simonsen Sl T H blackburn and R A pearse was elected and the ticket was named citizens nonpartisan non partisan ticket which thes the convention adjourned |
