party obligations that our cites affairs are foreign to national political issues ind and require a strictly business administration and hereby call on all voters of 0 brigham city to support and elect a citizens ticket at a the coming election for the following reasons 1 to eliminate party responsibility and shoulder it upon individuals and and to to break brak the str strings i lagg that bind 2111 officers cers chosen by party bosses 2 we believe officers chosen by the people at large can work freer and do more good than those chown by any one party 3 to be in una line with the progressive thoughts of oi the day ali take oty city government out of 0 party polities politics 4 the appointive offices can then be filled by those qualified rather than by those who have bave a pull 5 that the board of health be backed up p by the city administration OR so BO as to bring results 6 we favor a municipal weekly market 7 we deplore the failure of the present city administration in not making a report to the people of the findings of the committee appointed to investigate the feasibility of a municipal telephone system and our nominees pledge themselves to work for the establishment of a municipal telephone system we favor the municipal ownership of public cutill ties 8 we are proud of the tact fact that brigham city has no open saloon and we favor prohibition ot of the liquor traffic in every sense of the word 9 we favor establishing lines of streets grades and ditches we also demand the parking of the city hall ball property and suph sua other improvements as assembled adopt the following platform we reaffirm re affirm our allegiance alle gance to the republican party and its principles by which our country has become the greatest and foremost nation in the world today we fully endorse the stand taken by byi our senators I 1 and cengr congressmen in is ehg I bierent present ext exira 7 m session of congress ln I 1 using every power and influx influence once to safe guard our industries and to protect our workmen from foreign labor W we congratulate our state republican administration for the clean and progressive politics it has followed we point with pride to the labors 1 and to the progressive spirit 0 ot r our present city administration in maintaining the efficiency of our electric light and power system in extending the water mains of the city in constructing ting and extending the now new pipe line up the south fork and thereby securing ing an increased water supply our city with to come in advocating the ownership of the progress of the convention to unite with the non partisans and when put to a vote was defeated by a lute large majority the business of naming a ticket did not require ranch much time nor
