BY JADE BYTHEWAY Dixie Sun Sports Editor The womens soccer team continued tearin it up last week, upsetting No Mesa Community College Monday night. We knew it was going to be a hard game, freshman Alicia Woodward said. We needed to step it up to the next level " Mesa hosted Dixie State in hopes of ending the Rebels' undefeated season. Those hopes were shattered by a win, keeping the Rebels season loss free. It was no easy win for the Rebels, who felt a high intensity level during the game. They are a very explosive team, coach Linda Huddleston said. It was a 2-- 1 Tauni Huddleston was coming off an injury, but there may have been no sign of that in the game. Tauni helps out a lot in the front, Linda Huddleston said. She really adds to the team. Another key player in Mondays win was defender Alicia Woodward. Linda Huddleston said she has really stepped up on the defensive end. Were the best, Woodward said. We can compete against anyone anywhere. WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 Mesa C.C. The Rebels do compete well anywhere, which helps keep their undefeated season alive. One place they know they can dominate is on the DSC campus. They proved that after exploding a win over Colorado Mountain Community College at home Saturday afternoon. Not only were 12 goals scored, but they were also driven in by a different player each time The Rebels scored 10 in the first half and two in the second half. Goals were made by freshmen Domelle Mucci, Shantae Adams, Jessica Michie, Becky Bunnell, Brianna Robison, Nicolette Trickey, Kera Baugh, and by sophomores Blair Jorgensen, Robin Rommey, Heidi Bushman and Jenny Nicholson. The final goal excited the home crowd as team captain Martin jumped, dived and slammed the ball into the net with her head. I was excited, Martin said. It was fun. Martin will lead her team on Saturday against Salt Lake Community College at home. The Rebels also played last night against Chandler Gilbert C.C., but the results could not be posted before press time. After practices and games, Judkins favorite program to watch on tele vision is volleyball. If a volleyball game isnt beinr broadcast, she settles for football and basketball Her favorite hobby other than volleyball is boating She likes to wakeboard and is constantly working on new tricks. I tried a back-flionce and landed on my head," she said. Judkins graduated from Viewmont High School in Bountiful and is in her first year at DSC. She hasnt chosen a major yet, but she dreams of teaching high school in the future. The Rebels had a bye last week and will be this weeks preparing for conference season opener against Salt Lake Community College.
