Show rts & Page 9 April 14, 1999 ntertainment Editor: Jennie Squire jennie58hotmail.com Never Been Kissed Turns Heads As Romantic Comedy By Jennie Squire jennie58hotmail. com Drew Barrymore has gone on a movie binge, and she just seems to be popping her cherub face on movie screens across the country. Her latest film Never Been Kissed is one of those crazy high school films that seems to be a great hit, ranking number two at the box office, following Matrix. This is one "put your brain in your pocket and enjoy the film" shows that you must see. If you want to see a love show, be prepared. It's one of those "look I'm no longer fat so lets take out all the past humiliation and have some long lost revenge." Don't let me persuade you that it is a bad movie because it hit one of those "make me over and now I beautiful" cords that make everyone happy, like Pretty Woman It's definitely worth a double take. The story starts out with Jose Geller (Barrymore) as a Chicago newspaper reporter who goes under cover in high school as part of a inside edition on what kids today are into Geller soon finds that returning to school helps her through some of her problems that have plagued her since Her younger brother, high school. (David Arquette) who is also in his twenties, accompanies Geller in the hopes that it'll help his sorry luck with his lagging baseball career Through some miracle Geller has a teacher, who seems to be smitten with her, a high school student and Geller finds herself caught in a comical love story This show was definitely not better than Wedding Singer, (one of my crazy show favorites) yet it did have a special appeal much like Clueless that sends you into high school flashback mode I found the show worth my time and just to see Josie Grossy made the Like I said show fun and carefree earlier, just put your brain in you pocket and don't think. It's a fun show worthy of my $6. Josie (Drew Barrymore), Kristen (Jessica Alba), Kristin (Marley Shelton), and Gibby romantic comedy (Jordon Ladd) made Never Been Kissed a bubble-heade- d WANT A JOB?
