Virgil Wayne Coles, 24, guilty to two, third degree felonies on Feb. 4. He escaped from the officers and stole another car. He then drove this car to a convenience store where a clerk recognized him as the guy the police were looking for. The clerk called the police but when they arrived Coles ran away again. Then police received a tip he would be on the St. George Shuttle. Officers spotted him and he ran a third time. This time, officers chased him on foot from Bluff to Main Street, where they caught him and arrested him. He was released from Washington County Jail, after bail was reduced from $35,000 to $28,850, on Jan. 1. Four days later, on Jan. 4, Coles again allegedly fled from police and ended up crashing the car go he was driving into a Dixie College classroom.
