T y, convenience, and technology. Oh, wail. ..we do, I forgot. So it is with this in mind that I question the tradition of deer hunting, not that there arent any good points, like the overwhelming amount of orange outfits that disappear from store shelves. Maybe it is just my nature, but I dont f, el like having a stuffed deer, or any ither forest creature, hanging on my wall I dont think that if we were to e invited into a deers home, which we werent, we would see plaques on the wall with human heads attached looking like they were staring at the light of an oncoming 1972 Pinto, do you? If it is dead, bury it. If it is not, it would be awfully messy to try to tang on your wall, so it might be better to just leave it be. I have friends who deer hunt, but never once have they brought anything home. lamping? No benefit is gained from that hunt that could not be found somewhere in our world of modern convenience. For those of you who disagree with me on the basis that you are not the senseless murderer of whom I speak, I apologize. You have a redeeming quality to your soul, integrity. Maybe it truly is a sport to you. Perhaps you dont rave feverishly about the ferocious, deer whose soul purpose on this earth was to make you shoot it. You are a dwindling breed, true hunters, but those who use hunting as reason to leave your responsibilities behind and flee to the wilderness, tag in hand, ready to shoot and brag about your conquests over a beer at the local gun shop, you need to realize that you are being barbaric, destruc-tive- , and are giving a bad reputation to those with an ethical code. For those of you who do agree with me, it is open season on people in orange clothes next week. I hear the species is way overpopulated, so you have a chance to get something that looks good on your mantle. man-eatin- g Editor: John Wadley rages on Deer hunt is not stupid. Many people consider every deer to be Bambi. Im sorry to say but Bambi is an animated cartoon character that Walt Disney created. Bambi is not, and never will be a real deer. As stated in a recent letter to the editor, a young women said that the deer hunt was stupid. The deer hunt, or should I say the stupid deer hunt, is not stupid. As a matter of fact, the deer hunt draws more people from all around, than any other hunt. Most schools in Utah let their students out for the stupid deer hunt, so that they can go hunting. I do not know why people would consider the deer hunt to be stupid. Everyone can is a family it because enjoy it, event. Even if you dont hunt and your friends do, you can go along to have fun. Most people even like to be let out of school so that they can deer hunting. is a sport Deer hunting that is enjoyed by everybody in the world. There just happens to be some hunting done across seas, to show how much hunting is known, and loved. If deer hunting is so stupid why are there so many records for deer hunting? As well as elk hunting, cougar hunting, bear hunting, etc. People are proud of what they shoot. Yeah, they do have them mounted for show, and they shoot for the sport, but has anyone considered that the meat from the animal can feed a family of four for an entire year? My family has lived off of deer and elk meat forever. We just dont go go to hunting kill, we do it because we like the taste of the meat, too. As for seeing or killing I Bambi? dont think so. Bambi is a movie, not a real, living, breathing animal. Im sorry to speak the truth, but thats the way life works. And for the saying the deer hunt is stupid, its not, there are too many things that the deer hunt comes in handy for!
