CONTRIBUTING l KI1 Recently, the position as athletic director here at Dixie College has become available. After the current director, Karl Brooks, had a stoke, John Wordenburge has taken over on an interim basis. This has led to a nation wide search for Mr. Brooks' replacement. 65 people have responded from all areas of the United States, and a committee from Dixie College had whittled that number down to 12. These 12 were interviewed by phone and now there are 4 male applicants left. Next week President Huddleston plans on giving the applicants a tour of the campus and then they will be intergiven an him and the view with committee. The final decision will be made by Mr. Huddleston. The process is confidential and so the names of the people are not being released. But, just in case you wanted to know how much a person in an executive position would make, those rates are determined by the President The positon is an "at Will" one, meaning there is no set length for the job; it can be terminated at anytime by the college. Another obstacle for the new Athletic Director is that he will have to find a replacement soon for the Dixie College Men's Basketball Coach: Mr. Rose has accepted an offer to coach at BYU. Finally, whoever is chosen will have to find their own housing and pay their own travel expenses. Good luck. |
