Tickets are R&K's now on sale at bookstore, the Dixie College Bookstore, the DRMC Education the Department, Washington County Extension Office, Stout Home Furnishings in Hurricane, Hurst Ace Crafts in Cedar City, and the Enterprise City Office. Advance tickets are priced at $15. At the door, admission is $20. Gail Smith, and vice president of Franklin Quest, is the featured keynote speaker. A graduate of Dixie High and Brigham Young University, g where she was a athlete, Gail played a major role in the Franklin Day Planner company's conception. "What Gail did in the first three years at Franklin is now being done by more than 400 people," says her husband, Hyrum Smith. Gail has taught physical education and history at Ben Lomond and Dixie high schools. She served a mission for her church in London, England, prior to her marriage. She has had the opportunity to travel all over the world-t- o Hong Kong, Russia, China, Israel, Mexico, and Egypt, and has lived in record-holdin- Germany, Hawaii, Oregon and Southern California in addition to her native Utah. (She was born in St. George and raised in Washington.) The Smiths are the parents of six children. The conference agenda includes the keynote address by classes preSmith, five one-hosented by business and community leaders from across the state, and a luncheon. The conference is sponsored by three primary organizations: Dixie College, Dixie Regional Medical Center and the Washington USU County Cooperative Extension Service. These organizations rotate the host role each year, and 1996 is Dixie College's host year. The 1996 conference is by Dixie College's Cheryl Rose and Joan Smith. Approximately 40 local businesses provide additional sponsorship dollars, donations and services. Without the support of these community businesses the conference would not be possible, spokesperson Cheryl Rose said. When it comes to the future, don't underestimate obstacles ahead.
