Lynn Madsen (ICC) has done a tremendous job in getting that project completed in spite of little help and contractors hassles. And speaking of sand, the Sandblast at Snow's Canyon during Welcome Week was another plus its tremendous student turnout What a way to start off the year1! Also among the good have been the football team - and the 2nd in the nation with ig- ong -- basketball team. They had outstanding years. The had this year was momentarily bad. The worst, women s both only nowevor, . 9 occurred during the Homecoming football game when d flicks College threw a Jail Mary touchdown pass with 6 seconds left on the clock to win game. Without the loss, the Rebels may have gone to take the National in hampionship. It has been a lot of work for me, especially during the first two quarters when I had speakers scheduled once a week. I soon learned that this was not the way to go about it, besides the difficulty in publicizing, the attendance was poor. I decided that having one or two big ones a quarter was the answer. He did an outstanding job and what made it even better is that the place was packed It was without a doubt the best of the year. The worst experience I had with this position was during the first two quarters. I would plan, organize and publicize a speakers forum and when the time came, only students would show. I have never seen so much involvement this whole year except thnt week. The Sandblast was the most successful in years. The worst of the year was the stress of failure on my part to adequately publicize the Main Attraction Concert for 1 did not prioritize my time well enough to follow through on such a crucial event. However, I did learn from this experience and will never agree to take on a job in which I know I All in dont have time to do. all, I agree that this year was Rhodes-ASD- C Secretary The friendships made through service to Dixie college were "good," being busier than CPA at tax season was "bad," and the sight of the tired Executive Council at early morning meetings was "ugly," but I feel this past year has been productive and positive. Completing Finals Survival Kits, weekly minutes, letters, quarterly reports, and the scrapbook were time consuming and at times difficult, but feel the results are successful. During Welcome Week, our Club Booth function, went very well with 30 clubs in attendance. , Weve founded six new clhbs on campus this year which have benefited Dixie greatly. With an average of 50 attendance at all ICC meetings this year I was very happy. A "Club of the Month" program was started winter quarter which added excitement and incentive for all of our clubs. Also, I made a club information chart Winter quarter which hangs in the Exec. Council room. This chart allows students to view all of the club and organization Dixie offers, along with what type of club they are, what time they meet, where they meet, and who the advisor is. The only lowlight of the year is the decreased attendance at ICC meetings during spring quarter when the weather turns beautiful and the year is drawing to a close. , leadership position of having obligations and responsibilities, such as: attending early morning meeting with Executive Council to discuss upcoming events, attending studentbody leadership class, and attendingparticipating in school activities. Such activities included: the Homecoming Parade, the Bid-- t a Date, the Slave Auction, pulling' Daren Gates- - Ombudsman I thought the year was a success. My job in particular as Ombudsman (Student Relations) was different from any other on the Exec. Council. You see, I hod to wait for problems to happen, so I can help solve them. I don t have any a assignment as such. It was wise move to combine this office with another for the upcoming You find yourself year. wondering what to do at times. This is where I got involved in activities and entertainment. Karen Whiting is a great advisor to the group. Shannon Snow- - AWS President As AWS presidnet I just wanted to express my thanks to all those who made this year great. We couldn't have had a more exicitng time with Sadies, Preference, Mothers Weekend and Intrnmurals. ther were some hectic times, but as a whole no one can say it wasnt't all goood, and there was no bad or ugly.
