The Rebels finished the week with a 2 record. On Thursday the Rebels hosted the Idaho State Baseball Club and handled them quite easily. Dixie 7 . rQ 4-- f finished both games in the minimum 5 innings by the 14-- 3 and 13-In the opening game, Dixie scored 4 times in the first inning, 5 in the second, and 4 more in the third to give the Rebels a 13-- lead after 3 innings of play. The Key blasts came from Ryan Brown as he hit a 3 run homer followed by a solo round tripper by Sid Smith to scores of ? 0 Number 12, Sid Smith, connects with another Ricks pitch to help the Rebels gain a victory on Saturday at the Elks field !' 1! Ladies Win InwithOvertime seconds the Lewis Harper Sports Editor The Lady Rebels closed out the season in an exciting overtime over the Badgers. 98-9- 5 Snow victory College It seemed that the Ladies of Dixie would take this game quite easily as they jumped into an early 24-- 4 The Lady Badgers then came back and took the lead for the first time at with just over 3 minutes left in the lead. 35-3- 4 half. Snow managed to maintain this margin of lead and went into the locker room with a 9 advantage . As both teams came out to start the second half, it was hard for either team to gain more than a 4 point lead. The Lady Badgers finally broke this barrier as they 1 moved ahead with only 40 seconds on the clock. Sheila Sorensen then put the Lady Rebels right back into the game, as she drove the baseline, scored and was fouled. Sorensen then sank the charity shot and pulled to within one at 4 with only 31 seconds remaining on the 41-3- 85-8- 85-8- clock. Snow then went on a keep away game from Dixie, forcing the Lady Rebels to foul on only 6 clock. Snow managed to sink only one of the charity shots, moving them into a two point lead. Dixie then picked up the rebound off of the missed foul shot and moved up the court very quickly. Laurie Nelson which pushed up a hit the front of the rim. Libby Price just happened to be there for the Rebels and put up a shot, with one second left on the clock, moving the game into overtime. When Price put in the shot at the buzzer, it was just a start to a barrage of points made by the Freshman from Lehi. Price went on to score 9 more points and turned in a game high 24 points. The score remained close all the way through the overtime period and when Sorensen sank 3 of 4 charity shots, it moved the Lady Rebels into the lead for good. Nelson then came up with a big steal with 20 seconds left as she was fouled. She found it hard to connect the free throws and missed them both. Snow's Vicky Staker then drove up hard to keep Snow in the game, but was whistled for an offensive charge. Price then put in the final bucket for Dixie to make the score 98-9- he smashed another homer for the Rebels. Mike Jolley hit a double to finish up the second inning. Sampson then returned and smashed another homer in the third to give Dixie the 13-- 0 advantage. The Idaho club came back and scored 3 runs of their own in the top of the fifth before the 3rd out came. This should have ended the game, but a error on the score board sent the Rebels to the plate once more. It didn't take long before Dixie put the 1 more needed point on the board and the game ended on account of rule. the n The next game seemed to follow the same pattern as the Rebels scored 8 runs in the first inning alone. 10-ru- each got on base.
