Doug Thurell, this years yearbook editor, has sacrificed of- - an- - time and effort into completing his masterpiece than most realize or can even comprehend. Most of all, he has done this without applause, and almost recognition more ley, JSS, ette new ing esi- - sen, anonymously. Doug, now and first ice ixie a sophomore, became involved with the yearbook near the end of the year last year, when a friend talked him into volunteering to help with the yearbook. Noticing his dependability and skill, lick advisor ise, the ster tion id 5 une gins enis class and 3SS1- - e. of the yearbook, Ed Rogers, then asked Doug if he might be interested in becoming the next editor. Mr. Rogers I went to Doug commented, because he worked with us during winter quarter last year and made a very valuable contribution to the 1987 yearbook as a volunteer. Mr. Rogers went on to say, Doug Thurell has been the steadiest, hardest working, most valuable young man I at working with have ever worked with in Doug was born in Okinowa, Japan. His family then moved to California, then to Sunset, Utah where he graduated from Clearfield High School in 1982. He spent two years on a mission for the LDS Church in Taichung, Taiwan, Republic of China. Following his mission, Doug came to Dixie to continue his education. After he graduates from Dixie at the end of winter quarter next year, he plans to transfer to Brigham Youns University and then on to Thunderbird Business College in Arizona. His goal is to ma- jor in general marketing and In- temational Trades in hopes of using his language from his mission. Doug commented that doing the yearbook was one of the hardest things he has ever done, yet he has learned a lot about dedication, organization and many trade secrets. He said, Being yearbook editor taught me respect. Once you start something you dont back down! Doug remarked on how much he appreciated his staff. Each quarter there were about 3 staff members total. This years staff consisted of Heidi RESERVE OFFICERS TRAINING CORPS have ovo, Rex- endi, it on Corey, Dayne Mitchell, Jason Jones, Kristie Behunin, Rebecca Breinholt, Heidi Kreyling, Anonglak Phoumighat, Trade Hensen, Curtis Kirk and Bruce and Denna Humphreys. Alot of Doug stated, thanks also goes to Ed Rogers who completed about 50 percent of the yearbook. When the campus had emptied for Christmas and spring breaks, Mr. Rogers and Doug were still going hard at it in the yearbook room.
