Top Students Picked Candidates for this years outstanding students at Dixie College were selected by a student-facultcommittee who carefully considcontribuered the tions and scholastic standing of the students in each class. Finalists for Outstanding Freshman Woman are Claudia Haslam, Katherine Larkin, Dona Lu Parkin son, Judy Sheffield, and Beverly Whitehead Man Freshman Outstanding candidates are Nolan Archibald, y extra-curricul- ar Melvin Bowler, Keros Brown, Clarence Ott, and Garth Pickett. The Outstanding Sophomore will be chosen from the Woman following: Genevieve Cox, Margaret Force, Joy Johnson, Carol Miles, and Margaret Truman. Sophomore men candidates are Ralph Atkin, Delwyn Cox, Mark Hansen, Herman Ventura, and Dick Whitehead. The outstanding man and woman of each class will be announced it the annual Honors and Awards rrogram which will be held Monday evening, May 24 at 8:15 p. m. in the FAC auditorium. Other awards of interest that will be presented include a Social Service award to the sophomore who has made the most contribution to the school and community, an award for the outstanding athlete, awards from the various departments for the best music, art, dancee, students, etc. Other events for the evening will d, Grou-chie- st n, Gov. Rampton To Speak To Dixie Graduates Governor Calvin L. Rampton, will give the graduation address to the largest graduating class in the history of Dixie College. The graduation exercises will be held in the St. George Tabernacle on June 2, at 8 p. m. Mrs. Dona Parkinson, Chairman of Commencement Activities, is pleased to announce that such a distinguished speaker the commencement will deliver address. Governor Rampton was born in Bountiful, Utah, November 6, 1913. He graduated from Davis High School in 1931.
