Students who plan to register this spring or next fall should be aware that they can obtain financial aid if they need it. The purpose of the loans is to help needy students obtain an education by loaning them money at low interest rates. The primary consideration in granting a loan will be the applicants demonstrated need for financial help in pursuing his or her education. An applicant must also be a student at Dixie College. This means that the student must register for at least 16 quarter hours each quarter, be in good academic standing, and be able to signify his loyalty to the United States of America. . As students need not repay loans or interest until one year after he ceases to a full time student. In the event that the student becomes a full time teacher the loan and interest up to fifty per cent shall be cancelled over a period of time. Should an applicant become permanently disabled the entire loan may be cancelled.
